Assassin's Creed: Origins

The Old Library

By
Nathan Garvin

Suggested Level: 18

Sword of Ptah

For this next quest, you need merely turn your attention back easterward, to the island upon which you resolved the quest “ Taste of Her Sting “. Fast travel back to the ruined temple of Serqet (the fast travel point in the middle of the island), leap down and go to enter the temple, at which Bayek will be met with a… rather paltry threat, which he quickly laughs off. Fortunately the man at the ruins know of the weapon you seek, and points to a possible explanation for its absence: bandits.

Well, Bayek’s always been game for killing bandits, especially if there’s useful treasure to be found! The bandits - or rather, the pit where the treasure the bandits plundered - can be found north and slightly west of the fast travel point near the ruined temple of Serqet, at the Dasos Hideout. Just follow the road north and west until you find the pit, above which you’ll find a tree, complete with a hanged man. Inside the pit, however, rests two treasure chests, one red, one white, along with a pack of hyenas to guard them. There’s little they can do if you mount the tree and shoot down into the pit, so exterminate them, then drop down and loot the chests. The red one is one of the location objectives for the nearby Dasos Hideout, while the white one contains the “ Sword of Ptah “, the rare weapon you were seeking.

Reward: For completing the quest “The Old Library”
1,500 XP, Sword of Ptah

Dasos Hideout

Now, you’re so close to the Dasos Hideout, and have half completed the location objectives for it, it’d be a shame to just leave it alone. If you want to clear it out, head down a passage to the north (opposite of where the chests lie) to exit out a cave near the bandit camp. There are no walls, no alarm braziers to worry about, just a captain (level 19) and several lesser bandits (level 18) that need some dead, and a whole lot of foliage about to facilitate their demise. Simply sneak around and use opportunistic whistling to lure them to their deaths, then loot the camp for whatever treasures can be found therein.

Reward: For completing the Dasos Hideout
400 XP

The year is 48 BCE, and both Rome and Ptolemaic Egypt are torn by civil wars. In the chaos caused by this political upheaval, a shadowy conspiracy seeks the mysteries buried under the sands of Egypt, not sparing any who stand in the way of their ambitions. One such aggrieved individual, Bayek, a Medjay from Siwa, now seeks revenge against this secret organization. Ultimately going back to the origins of the Assassin’s Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Origins is a rebirth of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, adding a vast open world, a revamped combat system and RPG elements to the prolific stealth-action series.
