Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Seltas Queen

By
Vincent Lau

The Sadist Queen, more like.

Seltas Queen is the female version of the sexually dimorphic Seltas species, and is rightly called the queen, for she is far more deadly than the male version could ever dream of being, acting like a combination of both a tank and a scorpion. Seltas Queen will utilize ruthless charges and precise strikes with her pincer tail to damage you, and in addition can use pheromones to summon nearby Seltas to the area. She will violently grab the Seltas and force it to merge with her, drastically increasing her power and allowing Seltas to lift her up into the air with its powerful wings. If low on energy, Seltas Queen will violently kill the Seltas and eat it, and then proceed to summon another Seltas to the area.

**Area** **Start** **Roam** **Rest**
Ancestral Steppe 4 2, 3, 8 9
Primal Forest 5 1, 2, 4 9
Heaven’s Mount 6 1, 2, 5 7

Attacks

On her own, Seltas Queen acts more like a tank: Slow, but exceedingly powerful. Once she forcibly absorbs Seltas’s power, however, and has its support, Seltas Queen will begin moving as fast as a Seltas while still possessing all the ruthless power of a tank, making her an incredibly deadly monster, especially in rage mode. Stick to the back of her hindmost legs and watch out for her long, impressive tail.

Charge: On her own, her charge is slower and doesn’t home in as much, but if it hits you, it will hit like a tank.

Tail Whip: Seltas Queen will wind up, then suddenly spin around, her enormous, bulky tail whipping through the air to send you flying.

Tail Grab: Seltas Queen can also use her tail to stab you. She will jab it forward quickly with extreme precision.

Cannon Blast: Seltas Queen when enraged will shoot a powerful water blast. This can easily bring you down to zero health if you already had taken a hit earlier. Steer clear of this attack by staying away from her face in general.

Pheromone Release: Seltas Queen will release pheromones to summon a Seltas. These will also give you the Soiled status.

Hipcheck: Seltas Queen will lift up her legs and then stomp, tilting her hip and causing her tail to swing with the attack. Run towards the side away from the direction she is going to ram in.

With Seltas Only

Homing Charge: This charge will happen much faster and will be done up to three times. It also has incredibly homing abilities—as Seltas Queen winds up the charge each time, she can change where she’s facing as you move.

Ground Pound: Seltas will use its powerful wings to lift Seltas Queen up in the air and then bring her smashing down. This can cause small tremors.

Breakable Parts

Legs: Every single one of her four main legs can be broken

Tail: You cannot sever her tail but parts of it will be chipped off

Claw: Parts of Seltas Queen’s front claws will be chipped

Weaknesses

Elemental: Fire, Ice

Status: Blast
