Every Palico has a specialty that affects the skills they have and the special abilities they can use. For example, True Health Horn, a horn Palicos can blow that will restore your health, is usually found in Healing Forte Palicos.
The following is a list of the fortes and what they specialize in. Have a few Palicos of each forte for flexibility.
| Forte | Specialties |
|---|---|
| Charisma | Cheers you on and buffs your attack/defense, can heal sometimes. |
| Fighting | Specializes in attacking the monster instead of buffing you |
| Protection | Buffs your defense and gives you other forms of protection against statuses and the like. |
| Assisting | An oddball forte that does a variety of things the other fortes don’t. Can create a trampoline that you can leap off of to mount a monster, for example |
| Bombing | Attacks the monster ruthlessly like Fighting Palicos, but only with bombs! |
| Gathering | Does not fight or help you much and instead will focus solely on gathering from gathering spots and monster bodies. |
