PWT - Postgame

Once you’ve become the Champion, you can unlock additional tournaments in the PWT. Besides providing additional challenge–likely much more than the vanilla game provides–you’ll also get a chance to encounter some old and familiar faces…

These tournaments are generally tougher than the ones you may have participated in earlier. By default, all Pokemon will be set to Level 50 . Furthermore, you cannot include certain Pokemon in your team, usually legendaries.

Banned Pokemon

Unova Leaders Tournament

In this Tournament, you will be battling Unova Gym Leaders, both past and present, as well as Bianca (because everyone pities her). The only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

Kanto Leaders Tournament

In this Tournament, you will be battling Kanto Gym Leaders from Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow (and FireRed, LeafGreen). The only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

Johto Leaders Tournament

In this Tournament, you will be battling Johto Gym Leaders from Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal (and HeartGold, SoulSilver). The only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

Hoenn Leaders Tournament

In this Tournament, you will be battling Hoenn Gym Leaders from Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. The only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

Sinnoh Leaders Tournament

In this Tournament, you will be battling Sinnoh Gym Leaders from Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. The only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

World Leaders Tournament

In this Tournament, you will be battling Gym Leaders from all regions (Unova, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh). The only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

Champions Tournament

In this Tournament, you will be battling Pokemon League Champions from all regions (Unova, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh). The only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

Type Expert Tournament

The Type Expert Tournament is actually a collection of sub-Tournaments based off of each Pokemon type. After selecting the Tournament, you must select the Pokemon type that is allowed to be used in the Tournament. The type that you choose is the only Pokemon type that can be used by both you or your opponent.

Dual-type Pokemon are allowed if one of their types is the chosen type. Other that, the only other thing to note is that you can choose to participate in a Single Battle, Double Battle, Triple Battle or Rotation Battle style for the Tournament.

Rental Masters Tournament

This Tournament is basically the hard version of the Rental Tournament . It works exactly like its easier counterpart, but has a much larger pool of rental Pokemon. Instead of the 208 Pokemon that the regular Rental Tournament has, this has easily over 1000, including variations of each Pokemon.

It’s great for replayability and means that you really shouldn’t have a repeat Tournament ever! Enjoy.

Mix Masters Tournament

Like the Rental Masters Tournament, this is a hard version of a previous Tournament, namely the Mix Tournament . Trainers now have new, improved parties, most commonly with fully-evolved forms of Pokemon found in the previous Tournament.

As well as this, all Pokemon have a hold item. There are less trainers that before too, with all trainers that weren’t Gym Leaders or Bianca being cut out entirely, and the rest of the Gym Leaders that were previously missing added in. This makes for a less varied, but much more difficult Tournament.
