Even the game acknowledges this is a very straight and plain route.

Our next destination is Wela Volcano Park, the site of our next trial. To get there, we need to head through Route 6. From the Route 5 Pokemon Centre, follow the path back down to the entrance. Exit back to Paniola Ranch and head due south.

At the far end, a line of "Sudowoodo" IconSudowoodos will be blocking access. Do as Lana suggested and “show” them your Waterium Z to send them scurrying. You’ll also receive a Mystic Water from the nearby kid. With the Sudowoodos gone, carry on south to reach Route 6 itself.

This route is pretty short. From the north entrance, begin by heading south, while keeping an eye towards the west. When it appears, pick up the Super Potion on the floor, then hurry east to catch the attention of a young Pokemon trainer.

Youngster Anthony

Pokemon Level Type
"Magby" IconMagby 15 Fire
"Yungoos" IconYungoos 16 Normal

For "Magby" IconMagby, Water, Ground and Rock-types are best. Meanwhile "Yungoos" IconYungoos should be taken out with a Fighting Pokemon if you have one or a Steel-type. Most high Level Pokemon should be OK, since both are fairly weak.

Further south, there is some tall grass to the west and standing inside it, towards the bottom, is another trainer you can battle. Or if you want, you can cautiously sneak behind him through the tall grass.

Pokemon Breeder William

Pokemon Level Type
"Sudowoodo" IconSudowoodo 17 Rock

This one should be familiar; it’s one of those fake tree Pokemon that you sent running away in fear. Water, Grass, Ground and Fighting types excel here. You can even use that Waterium Z you just obtained.

Either way, head all the way west through the tall grass. At the end, there’s a small gap in the fence that leads back to Paniola Town. On the other side, go down to pick up TM88 Sleep Talk . That’s not all; search the barrels north for a hidden Super Repel .

Head back to the main path and carry on south past William. You’ll across a trainer being stumped by Team Skull Grunts. Time to lend a hand?

Team Skull Grunt

Pokemon Level Type
"Drowzee" IconDrowzee 17 Psychic

It’s this guy again. Show him no mercy with your Ghost, Bug or Dark-type Pokemon if you have them. Especially Dark-types. Steel-types are good too or any strong Pokemon, really, that’s not weak to Psychic.

From here, you can head east to reach Royal Avenue, where the Battle Royal Dome is. You’ll also need to pass through Royal Avenue to reach the trial site, so you’ll need to visit eventually. For now though, we’re continuing south for a, uh, sort of minor detour.

This is around the halfway point of Route 6. South from here is a Beauty looking around for a brawl. You can sneak past her by "Tauros" IconTauros charging through the rocks along the west side. After breaking the first bunch of rocks, you can pick up a Rare Candy too. Yummy.

Past the rocks, towards the south-west corner, is a patch of tall grass you’ll need to navigate around. If you search in the corner where there’s no grass, you can find a Carbos . East from here will you back to the main path. To the south is the exit back to Heahea City.

Before leaving back to the city though, go north through the grassy path to the east of the route sign. Towards the east side, where there’s no grass, search carefully for a hidden X Speed .

From here, you can return west to the main path and challenge the remaining two trainers on your way south.

Beauty Brittney

Pokemon Level Type
"Cubone" IconCubone 17 Ground

A Ground-type Pokemon, so weak to Grass, Water and, if you have it, Ice. Flying-types are nice too since they’re immune to Ground moves. This is all common knowledge, so hopefully you knew all that by now!

Dancer Maika

Pokemon Level Type
"Oricorio" IconOricorio (Pa’u Style) 17 Psychic/Flying

Whoa, it’s a new "Oricorio" IconOricorio form. This one is part Psychic, so hopefully you’ve got an answer among your party. Dark, Ghost, Rock, Electric and Ice are all good here. Steel is good too since it resists both types.

Back in Heahea City

Just a few things to pick up.

Exit Route 6 and you’ll emerge along the east-most side of Heahea City. Unfortunately you can’t go further east for now and there’s not actually much more to the city, but we’ll take a quick looksie anyway.

Follow the main road west. After a while, there’s a building above–the Dimensional Research Lab. There’s nothing inside right now, but outside, if it’s night, you can pick up a "Zygarde" IconZygarde Cell (16) by the side of the antenna.

To the west of the lab is an office building that you can enter. Inside, head up the staircase to the next floor. Here, you’ll find the offices of Game Freak themselves. Feel free to chat to the developers and be sure to grab a Lemonade from the lady in the back.

On the top floor is an Aether Foundation office. There’s nothing to gain though, but it’s nice to just look around. That’s it for our short tour. Continue west from here to return to the Pokemon Centre. Afterwards, you can continue the story–in which case, flip ahead to Royal Avenue .

Or you could take a few more detours while you’re here…
