Prisoners in the Temple

By
Nathan Garvin

Suggested Level: 4

Before you get to any new business, you might as well take care of some old business. While you may have removed Medunamun from the world, the Temple of Amun still has secrets, namely the location objective of looting three chests. You probably could use the experience and loot, so you might as well return and take care of it. Don’t expect it to as simple as walking in and plundering the place, though. Just because Medunamun is dead doesn’t mean his soldiers aren’t occupying the place.

Your goal, then, should be to exterminate them all so you can search unimpeded, which isn’t too difficult of a matter if you use Senu, have patience, and let stealth and archery see you through most of the enemies. As you explore you’ll probably hear some priests crying out to you, and this is yet another reason to eliminate all the enemies in the Temple of Amun, as when you free one of the priests, the quest “Prisoners in the Temple” will begin, tasking you to free all five priests. That’s seven objectives on the temple ground - there’s a good chance you’ll need to clear out enemies to reach each one of them, so simply assuming you’ll end up clearing the area is probably a safe assumption.

As for the priests, you’ll find one near the western corner of the temple complex. From the southern gate turn left (northwest) and follow the wall until you find a structure with a vine-covered roof. The priest is near a wagon full of hay. From this first priest head northeast, go up some stairs, and when the stairs end turn left (northwest) to find another priest in a brick house. Next find a white tower south, southwest of the white stone temple. From here turn southwest to find the priests number four and five in a cage. Finally, turn south a climb a wall to find a house with a pond out front, inside of which you’ll find the final priest, on the bottom floor. When they’re all freed you’ll get an experience reward.

Reward (For completing the quest “Prisoners in the Temple”)
500 XP

Now that that’s done, it’s time to hunt for these chests. The first one can be found in the same house where you freed the fifth priest, on the upper floor (this house is in the southern corner of the temple complex). A second chest can be found in a house at the northern-most corner of the temple complex, while the third can be found in the temple itself, on an altar in a room northwest of where Medunamun liked to rest, just at the end of the stairs that lead to the cave below the temple.

Reward (For completing the Temple of Amun)
150 XP

The year is 48 BCE, and both Rome and Ptolemaic Egypt are torn by civil wars. In the chaos caused by this political upheaval, a shadowy conspiracy seeks the mysteries buried under the sands of Egypt, not sparing any who stand in the way of their ambitions. One such aggrieved individual, Bayek, a Medjay from Siwa, now seeks revenge against this secret organization. Ultimately going back to the origins of the Assassin’s Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Origins is a rebirth of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, adding a vast open world, a revamped combat system and RPG elements to the prolific stealth-action series.
