Jack tries to turn on the security, but something goes wrong and some turrets appear, attacking both you and Jack. It might be best to go down the ramp and hide behind something, letting Jack take the brunt of the attacks while you destroy the turrets.

With them out of the way, follow Jack to the next area, where you’ll see another short scene, introducing some antagonists in the game. Luckily, fighting them is not going to happen right now, so when you regain control, Jack will open another door nearby. Follow this path to another door that Jack will need to open.

Lucky for you, you don’t have to fight them at the moment.

In this area, some Lost Legion ships will come and drop off some enemies for you to kill, so do just that while moving to the waypoint. It might be best to let Jack go first, as the enemies will concentrate fire on him while you kill them. In the next room, allow Jack to open the door to a pretty large area with even more Lost Legion soldiers. Once the coast is clear, follow Jack into the next room and drop down into a new area, where you’ll fight your first boss of the game.

Boss: Flame Knuckle

This is a two stage battle, so don’t be fooled when you see the boss showing up with only half a life bar. The first part is fairly simple, as the boss is in a robot suit and has two critical hit spots, where his human body is located, as well as the tanks on his back. He also only has two main attacks here, one being a flamethrower and the other being balls of fire.

Once his health is gone, Flame Knuckle will ditch the suit and spend the rest of the time on foot. It’s also where the battle can be a little trickier, since Lost Legion soldiers will show up, but it’s still easy because of Jack being there to distract enemies.

Flame Knuckle’s first form is a powersuit and only starts with half a health bar, while his second form is on foot, complete with Lost Legion reinforcements.

The first thing you should do is get rid of the reinforcements, which there are only a few. As far as Flame Knuckle is concerned, he has a laser weapon that seems to be fire elemental, but it doesn’t do a lot of damage. Also, his shield doesn’t seem to regenerate, so take your time and use the various containers and stuff for cover if needed.

Flame Knuckle Doused

With the boss down, follow Jack to the elevator, only to find that it is stuck. He has another plan, which involves a large bullet that is a loading container. Walk the thin walkway and get inside, then Jack will move it to the area above. Find the elevator and when prompted, use your melee attack to bust the Loader that’s jamming it.

This will lower the elevator for Jack, bringing him to the top where you are. However, once he gets to the control panel, a single enemy will show up, so kill him and then go into the room where he came from to find a loot chest. Feel free to check the vendors to refill your health and ammo if needed and when ready, get into the container to be shot to the moon!

Crash Landing on the Moon

When you finally land, press the button to open the container and you’ll meet with Janey Springs, who will help you with your oxygen deprivation. Note that with the lack of gravity on the moon, you can jump higher and further than normal. Also, without oxygen, your health will slowly decrease until you die.

With no oxygen, the screen flashes black and you will slowly lose health (left). The Air Dome generator will supply a bubble of oxygen when activated (right).

For now, follow Janey, stopping at the oxygen bubble she triggers to top your health. Note that these devices that create oxygen bubbles are all throughout the moon, so always activate them when you spot one. Follow her the rest of the way to her place, where she’ll give you another task.

On the way to your next objective, you’ll likely see cracks in the ground with what look like lights coming out of them. These are pretty much vents with oxygen, and they’re marked on your map by little gray diamonds. On the way to your objective, you’ll likely be attacked by Kraggons. While the little ones are easy enough, the bigger ones will split into smaller ones when you kill them.

At the building, activate the oxygen bubble and attempt to open the door, only to have Janey tell you she locked it. You’ll need to melee the locks on the door, two of which are on the bottom and two being on the top, which will require you to jump. Inside, kill the Kraggons and grab the broken Oz Kit, then talk to Janey to finish the mission.
