Intro: Four Warriors

Return to Caldisla

Back in the Kingdom of Caldisla, return to the palace to report your findings to the king. The king will administer Tiz as the leader of the Norende reconstruction; now you can rebuild Norende by choosing the village icon from the map menu.

To get started, tap one of the coloured task icons on the bottom screen and select how many residents you want to work on this task. Your residents will work while you play the game or have the game in sleep mode (so you can build SP at the same time). The time required depends on the task–higher level tasks with require more time, naturally.

A lot of people don't realise this at first, but adding friends does NOT increase your village population at all.

Initially you will only have one resident. You can get more by tagging Bravely Default players via StreetPass, importing residents from the demo (up to 20) or by choosing "Update Data" from the save screen once per day, while connected to the internet.

When you have more than one resident, you can have residents work on multiple tasks or multiple residents work on the same task. A task that takes 30 minutes will take half the time (15 minutes) with two people and a third of the time (10 minutes) with three people, etc.

How you allocate your residents depends on your style–no matter your division of labour, the end result will be largely the same (if two houses take 30 minutes each to build and you have two people, you can build the first house in 15 minutes, then the second in the next 15 minutes or finish both houses in 30 minutes).

If you wish to complete one task urgently, place a lot of residents on that task. If you leave your game running for ages, spread out your residents so the completion times are close to one another, making it easier to reallocate labour.

When you're not on the world map, you can save by speaking to the red-suited Adventurer.

Plan Of Action

The more pressing issue though is the threatening presence of Eternia in Caldisla and, worse, Agnes’s stubbornness to stop Eternia all by her lonesome. You’d best run after the mad woman then… Outside the palace, Tiz will catch up to Agnes.

Due to her terrible sense of direction, Agnes has no choice but to rely on Tiz to take her to the Eternian forces. Well, we’re glad that little dispute is over then! If you’ve been paying attention (or not), your next destination is the lake to the south-west of Caldisla.

Before you storm into enemy territory, it may be wise to properly kit up. Immediately south of the palace, you’ll find the weapon shop (with the sword and shield icon on the bottom screen). With luck, you’ll have amassed some funds from your trip to the ravine–at least enough to buy some better equipment.

For now, you may wish to focus on defense, as the best weapon–the Broadsword–isn’t much better than your current weapons. Grab two Bucklers, Bronze Helms, a Linen Cuirass and maybe a Bronze Gauntlet/Bangle.

To equip your items, open the main menu by pressing START, SELECT or X and go to "Equip". Shields can be equipped in your other (left) hand.

Next, head left to find the Trader who sells healing items such as Potions and Phoenix Downs . Grab some extra Potions if you want; 10 is a healthy number to keep in your pockets for now. Finally spend a night in the inn to recover your health, then leave Caldisla.
