Find and Kill Bhethir

Start Location: Thane in Tri-Stone

Note: This side-quest will become available only after completing the side-quest "the Maker Warrior"

After getting the death grip, return to the Nook. From the courtyard, go down the long spiral stairs located in the south eastern corner to the cavern below. You will see death grip rings here now. Swing across to the large broken bridge in the centre of the cavern to have Bheithir spawn.

Side Mission: Find & Kill Bheithir

Bheithir is a flying monster who will appear when you reach the broken bridge in the fiery dungeon area below The Nook. After cutting a quick lap of the area he will land on one side of the bridge to commence the fight.

Moves:

Fire breath – Bheithir will bring his head back and breath fire onto the bridge. But this isn’t normal fire, not only can the initial attack deal a hefty amount of damage, but where it touches, the bridge will stay on fire for 10-15 seconds afterwards and you’ll want to avoid stepping in it.

Charge – He can do a quick lunging charge attack.

Tailwhip – When you get behind him he will swing at you and knock you back with his tail.

Slam – He can, like just about other boss do a slam attack.

Strategy:

This fight takes place entirely on the bridge and as the fight goes on, Bheithir will constantly work his way down the bridge towards you. Don’t let him corner you or you will be dead in a hurry! To reposition yourself, you will have to use the handholds on either side of the bridge to get around behind him and recommence the attack.

To damage him, you will need to run up and hack away at his body until he starts to either slam/swipe at you or rear his head back to do his fire breath move. Dodge these attacks and retreat to make him come to you. Continue darting in and out, punishing him where you can until you have no space left to manoeuvre. When this happens, use the handholds to get around behind him – watch out for his tail whip though! Repeat this strategy until he kicks the bucket.

For defeating him in battle, Death will be rewarded with the legendary weapon Bheithir’s Talons. Huzzah! Return to Thane to complete the quest.
