The first thing you should do as a Fledgling Blacksmith is forge a bunch of Bronze Ingots from Castele Copper, as a lot of your recipes require them. This will also help you practice crafting and boost your Smithing skill too.
Castele Copper can be purchased from "Ores and Mine" in the Artisans’ District or gathered from Haniwa Cave to the west of the East Grassy Plains, amongst other places.
Other materials can be bought from "The Buttonhook", "Fine Woods and Leather" or "Material Wonders", which are all located nearby in the same area.
The actual crafting is no different to making the Bronze Ingot and Custom Bronze Sword when you were a simple Novice.
To make high-quality items, you need a combination of fast crafting speed, a high level in your relevant equipment smithing skill and Luck.
Your crafting speed can be improved by increasing your key stats–primarily Vitality, then Focus and Strength–and by equipping stronger hammers.
