General Description: The Alchemist is an interesting class, and one that can be abused to some extent. After the problems with Mix in Final Fantasy X, the ability to mix items was heavily nerfed when X-2 came out. Even so, there are other uses for the Alchemist, including the ability to use some items without decreasing your own item stock (Elixirs and Mega Phoenixes among them!) and the ability to double items’ potency. If you’re wise enough to deal with the complexity of mixing items to get your desired effects, or simply can use items in lieu of single-target things from the White Mage, then the Alchemist is a great class for you to consider.

  • Abilities Learned:
  • **Mix - Auto - 0 MP Cost:** The user can combine two items to get the effects of a third (or one of the two), same as Rikku's Overdrive in FFX. - **Potion - 10 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use a Potion to heal 200 HP, but one is not eliminated from your stock.
  • **Hi-Potion - 40 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use a Hi-Potion to heal 1,000 HP, but one is not depleted from the stock.
  • **Mega-Potion - 120 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use a Mega-Potion to heal 2,000 HP to a party, but one is not depleted from the stock.
  • **X-Potion - 160 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use an X-Potion to heal 9,999 HP to a single target, but one is not depleted from the stock.
  • - **Remedy - 20 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use a Remedy to heal most ailments other than KO/Doom, but one is not depleted from the stock.

  • **Dispel Tonic - 20 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use a Dispel Tonic to achieve the effects of Dispel (remove Protect, Shell, Reflect, Haste, Regen, Auto-Life, Spellspring from the target) without depleting your stock of one.
  • **Ether - 400 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use an Ether to heal 100 MP, but your stock is not depleted.
  • **Elixir - 999 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use an Elixir to heal 9,999 HP and 999 MP, but your stock is not depleted.
  • - **Phoenix Down - 30 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use a Phoenix Down to revive someone from KO with approx 25% HP, but your stock isn't depleted.

  • **Mega Phoenix - 200 AP - 0 MP Cost:** You use a Mega Phoenix to revive all KO'ed allies with approx 25% HP, but your stock isn't depleted.
  • - **Chemist - 40 AP - 0 MP Cost:** Doubles the potency of items, but only uses those via the Items menu; the above Stash abilities are not affected. - **Elementalist - 80 AP - 0 MP Cost:** Doubles the potency of elemental-attack items.

  • **Physicist - 100 AP - 0 MP Cost:** Doubles the potency of non-elemental-attack items.
  • - **Items Lv. 2 - 30 AP - 0 MP Cost:** The charge time for item usage is cut by 80%. Note that this does not affect the "Stash" abilities named above; you must use the item from your own stock via the Items menu.
