Main Characters Part 1

Donnel

**Class** **Recruit** **Generation**
Villager Sidequest 1: Make him Level Up before mission's end I

Character Bio

A villager from a remote corner of Ylisse who came to the fight with little more than farming experience. However, he is eager to learn and shows a great deal of promise. The one with the curliest hair.

Other Classes

  • Mercenary > Hero / Bow Knight
  • Fighter > Warrior / Hero

Support

  • A Rank: Stahl, Kellam
  • S Rank: Lissa, Sully, Maribelle, Cordelia, Panne, Nowi, Olivia, Cherche, Miriel, Tharja

Possible Children

Owain, Kjelle, Brady, Severa, Yarne, Nah, Inigo, Gerome, Laurent, Noire

Growth Rates

  • HP: B
  • Strength: B
  • Magic: D
  • Skill: C
  • Speed: B
  • Luck: A
  • Defence: C
  • Resistance: D

Note that the growth rates listed above do not take into account Donnel’s Aptitude skill. When taken into account, increase the grade by 1 for each stat (so B becomes A, A becomes something crazy, etc.).

Opinion

A big complaint about Donnel is that the Villager class cannot upgrade into anything directly. The useful thing about his base class is learning the "Underdog" skill at Level 15. After that, he must be changed to a different class before upgrading to a newer one.

He works out okay thanks to the extra level up opportunities he gets, but when you train your other units diligently, it comes down to preference.

If you have time to train him, however, he becomes an incredible unit, especially when made a Hero (personal favorite). He will likely max out most of his stats thanks to his great growths compounded with his skills, so it comes down to whichever class you prefer.

He has a great skill and class range – a lot of hard hitting classes with useful skills. You may want to consider who he passes this skill down to. He is the only one with it in the game.
