Berserker

Crazed warriors on the war path; few enemies can survive their furious axe blows, but it doesn’t take a lot of blows to the head to stop one. As such, make sure to pick fights you can win, rather than strand them in a sea of mages or other hard-hitters.

Seasoned bowmen who never miss their mark. Being souped up Archers, you probably know their strengths and weaknesses by now. Compared to other advanced bowmen, only they can wield Longbows to further extend their range.

Thief

A sly pickpocketer and a dab hand with a blade. Their Strength is lacking and though they’re fast, don’t expect them to match Myrmidon levels of damage. No, their main purpose is to unlock chests without the aid of items.

  • Weapons: Sword
  • Class Type: Basic
  • Upgrades To: Trickster or Assassin
  • Movement: 5
  • Pair Up Effects: Skill + 2, Speed + 2, Movement + 1

Trickster

A devious denizen who’s probably stolen your items before you’ve even said "hi". In terms of offence, they’re not winning any awards, but their ability to wield staves makes them a good support unit. Acrobat is very useful in maps with diverse terrain.

  • Weapons: Sword, Staff
  • Class Type: Advanced

Pegasus Knight

An elegant aerial unit with high mobility and decent Resistance. Their attacks aren’t amazing, but can be deadly due to their high Speed. Absolutely keep them clear from bow-users, as one stray arrow will cause them early retirement.

  • Movement: 7

Falcon Knight

A Pegasus Knight riding a prettier pony. It’s a solid class, but retains the key strengths and weaknesses of a Pegasus Knight, for better or worse. Having a flying healer has its benefits though.

  • Weapons: Lance, Staff
  • Class Type: Advanced (Female Only; Beast / Flying)
  • Upgrades From: Pegasus Knight
  • Movement: 8
  • Pair Up Effects: Speed + 4, Resistance + 4

Resistance 40 D

Dark Flier

A Pegasus Knight who has learned how to cast magic while in mid-air. A flying mage opens up a lot of new strategies, even if their damage is inferior to a "real" mage. Every female unit with the option should become a Dark Flier to learn Galeforce.

  • Weapons: Lance, Tome
  • Class Type: Advanced (Female Only)
  • Upgrades From: Pegasus Knight
  • Movement: 8
  • Pair Up Effects: Magic + 3, Speed + 3, Resistance + 2

A mighty aerial soldier with a good balance of Strength and Defence. Arrows will still rue their day, but they can perhaps sustain one or two arrow hits instead of none.

  • Movement: 7
  • Pair Up Effects: Strength + 3, Defense + 3

  • Upgrades From: Wyvern Rider
  • Movement: 8

An airborne knight riding a mythical Griffon… wait, when has Fire Emblem ever had Griffons? Did a Lion Laguz and a Hawk Laguz get a bit too excited? Ahem, this a pretty well-rounded class with fantastic Movement when paired up.

  • Weapons: Axe
  • Class Type: Advanced (Beast / Flying)
  • Upgrades From: Wyvern Rider
  • Movement: 8
  • Pair Up Effects: Strength + 3, Luck + 1, Defense + 2, Movement + 1

A confident spell-caster who can inflict major damage to even the most armoured of foes. They’re a bit squishy though, so don’t throw them alone into a pack of soldiers.

  • Weapons: Tome
  • Class Type: Basic
  • Upgrades To: Sage or Dark Knight
  • Movement: 5
  • Pair Up Effects: Magic + 4, Skill + 2
