Class Breakdown Part 3

Sage

An exceptional student of magic who can wield deadly magic and supportive staves. If something is tinking your sword and axes, try sending out your Sage for an efficient magical solution.

Dark Knight

An ominous rider who wreaks havoc with blade or sorcery. They are well-balanced in all stats, so can serve all purposes, physically or magically. Despite their name, they cannot wield Dark Magic Tomes; they are just Mage Knights with dark armour.

Dark Mage

A sinister spell-caster who can wield forbidden Dark Magic tomes in addition to the endorsed ones. They are also fairly sturdy for mages and can even fight solo with their HP-draining Nosferatu tome.

  • Upgrades To: Dark Knight or Sorcerer
  • Movement: 5 ; Type: Magic
  • Pair Up Effects: Magic + 3, Defense + 3

Sorcerer

A fiendish Dark Mage who boasts devastating magical potential. Like Dark Mages, they can fight confidently on the front lines with Nosferatu. Their Vengeance skill transforms damage they sustain into greater pain for the enemy. Possibly the best magical class.

Priest

A pacifist clergyman who aids allies with his healing staves. They won’t win wars by themselves, but their healing support is vital for any army. Keep healing and healing till they can upgrade and cause some damage.

War Monk

A Priest who has perhaps become touched in the head and now roams the battlefield axe in hand. Their damage output isn’t amazing, but you can’t go wrong with axes. They can also heal themselves with Renewal.

Cleric

A female worshipper devoted to healing wounded allies; their presence will be appreciated in any army. Have them heal constantly, even if it’s just chip damage and they’ll be on ascent before you know it. That or spam the Rescue staff endlessly.

War Cleric

A Cleric on the warpath, perhaps wishing redemption on the enemies that hurt her companions. Her attacks are pretty solid, but having a Cleric on the frontlines isn’t something to encourage. That said, there’s something menacing about a little lady with a big axe.

Troubadour

A noble woman who tends to the wounded from atop her trusty steed. The superior Movement means she’ll reach casualty sites quicker than Priests and Clerics, but not if there’s a lot of rough terrain in the way. Hey, horses work hard too!

Valkyrie

A battle maiden who balances healing with divine retribution. Thanks to her horse and skilful sorcery, enemies across the battlefield will want a place to hide. But beware her atrocious Defence; she is just a glass cannon at most.

Villager

A common resident with no redeeming qualities to speak of, beyond the ability to grip a lance. As soon as one reaches Level 10 or 15 (for Underdog), use a Second Seal and watch their stats and battle potential immediately soar.

Dancer

An alluring performer whose charming dances invigorate allies, allowing them to move and attack a second time in the same turn. This has strategical benefits, such as moving across the map faster. They can also wield swords for defence/amusement.

Taguel

A beast warrior who shifts into a vicious rabbit to violently maul down foes. Without their Beaststone, they’re dead meat though, so make sure to carry enough. In the long run, it’s not an exceptional class, so consider Reclassing ASAP.

Manakete

A draconic female who devastates the battlefield while in dragon form. Like the Taguel, they are useless without their Dragonstone, so keep a few handy. But unlike the Taguel, it’s a good final class due to its ranged attack and fantastic bulk.

Conqueror

A determined ruler hell-bent on uniting the world whether anyone likes it or not. He has amazing Strength, Defence and Movement and is a force to be reckoned with. The double weakness is annoying, but instantly rectified with the Conquest skill (obtained by default).

Lodestar

A timeless hero who has saved the world again and again. He’s a well-rounded physical unit, made better by his ability to wield any of the three Falchions (because they used to be his). Just in case you’re not using Chrom or Lucina.

Dread Fighter

Bride

A woman being pranked or a woman in her prime: you choose. Despite appearances, she’s a solid fighter and support unit. But you have to ask: is fighting in a bride gown practical? Oh well, it’s just a game and you can’t say it doesn’t look nice.
