On this map, the normal path to get into the castle has you going a single direction: to the left and then up and to the right to reach the stairs. This forces you to be in range of the Launchers and the Snipers who are using them to attack you. Less than ideal, but nothing less than what the Hoshidans would want.

When you go to set up your troops, consider pairing up your strongest units with flying units right from the start. You can drop off these units on the right, over the canyon and then you’ll have some strong units ready to take out the Sniper and enemies to the left. You could even drop off a healer to the right, just in case your units need healing. The sooner you can get rid of the Hoshidans shooting the Launchers at you, the less damage you will take.

Whether you choose to employ your tactic or not, you will want to send most of your army to the left to take care of the troops over here. There is more than meets the eye this way, as the first three turns give several reinforcements. The enemy is smart enough to utilize their Rally skills as well, so you’ll be confronting them when their stats are boosted. If any of your own allies can Rally, do so to try and counteract them.

Focus on taking out this lower left area first. You are (thankfully) out of the range of the launcher units down here, so you can fight in peace in that regard. If you send 1-2 of your stronger units to the north of the lake, you can draw away some enemies easily, giving your other units an easier time going to the south and drawing the enemy down to attack. Keep a healer or two near you at all times. Use the forts for cover, or the enemies will do that instead!

Once the lower left area is taken care of, heal up and get ready to push north. You can’t draw out the enemy here, so you’re going to have to charge in yourself. Taking out the Sniper is easily done, but Hinata is going to be a bit harder to defeat so send one of your stronger units after him and take him down from range if you can. Kill the Spear Masters as soon as you can, and make sure your healer is out of the way of the Launchers, or their low defense will make them suffer.

After the enemy turn, either send your wounded units to the right (out of launcher range) or back south, to safety for healing. Our next step is to regroup at the stairs of the wall and get ready to storm the upper right wall section. You will want units ready to go at each of the stair entrances. Remember that you can move after using stairs, so try to send in your mounted/faster moving units first to get a first attack on the enemy. Your entire force right behind should easily wipe out the rest of the resistance, but pay extra attention to Oboro, as she has enhanced stats thanks to being paired up. Don’t forget to grab the two treasure chests up here as well.

Taking this part of the wall all but wins you the map. You do still need to send units to the left to take out Takumi, the boss, and that could be the hardest part of this fight if you aren’t properly prepared. He comes with a new enemy-exclusive skill, Point Blank . This means he can use his bow to attack from one tile away, so you aren’t safe attacking him from up close anymore. Gang up on him during your phase so that he doesn’t have a chance to pick off anybody who gets injured.
