A group of child soldiers who have broken away from the Mbele rebels have abducted their XO, with your objective being to extract both of them. The quicker you do this mission, the easier it will actually be, as both of the targets are in the same small area. When you get to the guard post, you will see a few child soldiers walking around.

Break out your binoculars and look for the one with the red beret, which is their commander. Look for the large canopy covering and that will be where the other target, the XO, is located. The problem with taking too long is that more child soldiers will arrive, making things a lot more dangerous. If this should happen, you’ll have to rethink your strategy a little bit.

Try to distract the child guards and grab the prisoner (left) then move him somewhere safe before taking own the the child soldier leader (right).

What makes things a bit more complicated is that you won’t be able to Fulton extract either of the two targets. As you may have noticed from the previous mission, your current extraction percentage with children is set at 0%, which is because you need a special upgrade that will become available soon enough. The other target is injured and won’t be able to survive the Fulton extraction, so you might need to take two trips anyway.

Warning: After completing this mission, there will be an outbreak of some kind back at Mother Base. To quickly (or not depending on how many people you have) isolate the problem, place all of the staff who speak Kikongo into Quarantine. This still doesn’t guarantee that some of your staff won’t be killed. Keep track of any in the brig who speak it, plus you will probably want to limit recruiting people until this is over.

Take the prisoners to a vehicle (left) and then proceed to the extraction zone (right).

Mission Task 3

The prisoner who escaped can be found to the south of the outpost, but you will need to act fast here. The problem is that if you take too long, he will be attacked by two wild animals and killed, so the first thing you should do is rush towards the prisoner’s location to extract him.

Mission Task 4

As before, it’s best to wait until you get the Child upgrade for your Fulton Device before you go and try to extract 12 children.

Mission Task 5

The easiest way to do this is to put both the XO and the child commander to sleep with a tranquilizer, then load them into a four-wheel vehicle and drive out of the hot zone. There should be one at the outpost, but you can always call one in if you have any at your base. Fultoning the vehicle can be a bit iffy, as it’s possible for either the child or XO to fall out and die.

Mission Task 6

You will be able to find some Digitalis Purpurea on a hill to the west of the outpost, which you can get onto by coming from the north. There should be three of these plants on the hill and you’ll need to loot all three to complete the task.

The Digitalis Purpurea can be found on the hill shown on the left. You'll need to hurry before the wild animals kill the prisoner that escaped (right).
