You have two choices of a landing zone for this mission and this guide will go with the northern of the two. Your job is to eliminate the Spetsnaz Commander, with the method being completely up to your choice. When deploying on a mission, you have the option to either go as soon as possible, at 06:00 or at 18:00.

Note: Depending on the time of day, it’s possible to run into less or more guards during missions, such as fewer enemies at night or they might be in different positions.

Coming in from the north, there will be a guardpost along the way, with at least two enemies stationed there. You can ignore them if you want, or sneak up behind both to subdue them. As you approach the main area for this mission, you should once again scout out the place using your binoculars. If it’s night, then you should be able to pinpoint the location of a few guards, as they will be manning spotlights.

It is also possible that you might get a sandstorm during this mission, which basically reduces visibility and noise for the duration, for both you and the enemies. The plus side, however, is that all targets that have been marked will still be visible, making it very easy to sneak up on any unaware enemies and thus take them down.

If you catch the Commander with your binoculars and I.D. his face (left) you can confirm he's the target. Extracting him has benefits since he is usually an elite soldier for Mother Base (right).

The commander is dressed up as a normal soldier though he has a red beret so look out for that soldier. It’s likely that the guy you’re looking for is in the central building, on the bottom floor. That means you should deal with the two guys in the towers close by, as well as any patrols that go near the building.

Remember that tranquilizer rounds and knocking enemies unconscious don’t last forever, so they will eventually awaken again and go back to their original route or station. You can identify the target by either taking everyone out and zooming in on his face, or simply scoping him out with your binoculars, again, getting a good look at his face. Whether you kill him or extract him (our option, since he is considered an elite soldier and has good stats for Mother Base), exit the hot zone to finish the mission.

Mission Task 2

Killing the commander from the required distance will require a sniper rifle. Before doing anything, make sure you mark the commander, so you know how far you are from him. Doing this task at night might be easier, as the commander might be out and about, but can also be found on the first floor. There’s a hill to the southeast of the compound that overlooks it, which can be used as post to get a good shot off on the commander.

Mission Task 4

There are actually two hoamas in the desert between Shago Village and Spugmay Keep, but the one you’re looking for is located on top of a sand dune southeast of the village.

The locations of the hidden materials (left) and haoma in the desert (right).

Mission Task 5

The hidden processed materials are found underneath the bridge that is on the west side of Shago Village.
