Preparation

Key Items to Bring

The following items are all recommended to be taken on a large number of quests. From healing items and stat buffs to traps and gadgets, the following items should help you stay alive and win in any fight. They are not gathering items; I trust that you know about Mining Picks, Bug Nets, Fishing Poles and Harpoons.

Health

Health is important for staying alive.

Item : Potion

Combine : Herb + Blue Mushroom

What is it : A minor healing item that, through smart use of the farm, you should always have a large supply of.

Item : Mega Potion

Combine : Potion + Honey

What is it : A powerful healing item that, like the potion, you can always have a large stock of if you choose the right things to farm.

Item : Nutrients

Combine : Blue Mushroom + Godbug

What is it : An item that extends your life bar, meaning you can take more damage.

Item : Max Potion

Combine : Mega Nutrients + Dragon Toadstool

What is it : An item that fully heals you and extends your life bar to its maximum length.

Stamina

Early quests are nice enough to give you Rations, but soon you'll need to prep your own.

Item : Steak

Found : Cook Raw Meat on a BBQ Spit.

What is it : regenerates stamina on being eaten, and keeping your stamina bar long will help you survive.

Item : Dash Juice

Combine : Rare Steak + Catalyst

What is it : A drink that will stop your stamina from draining for a while.

Item : Mega Dash Juice

Combine : Dash Juice + Well done Steak

What is it : A drink that will stop your stamina from draining for a long while.

Status Recovery

Glug an antidote soon after being poisoned to avoid a substantial damage building up.

Item : Antidote

Combine : Antidote Herb + Blue Mushroom

What is it : An item that removes the effect of poison.

Item : Energy Drink

Combine : Honey + Nitroshroom

What is it : An item that removes the Drowsy effect before falling asleep.

Item : Cleanser

Combine : Catalyst + Popfish

What is it : An item that removes the effects of Rockman and Snowman instantly.

Damage Output

Keep that weapon sharp!

Item : Whetstone

Found : In mining nodes, from the shop and Area 7 of the Moga Woods.

What is it : A tool for sharpening your blade, ensuring it deals the most damage possible.

Item : Demon Drug

Combine : Catalyst + Mightseed

What is it : A drink that boosts attack power.

Item : Mega Demon Drug

Combine : Demon Drug + Pale Extract

What is it : A drink that greatly boosts attack power.

Gadgets and Traps

A well timed Flash Bomb can make all the difference.

Item : Flash Bomb

Combine : bomb Casing + Flash Bug

What is it : A bomb that creates a huge burst of light, disorientating monsters. If used at the right time it can cause them to stumble.

Item : Sonic Bomb

Combine : Gunpowder + Screamer

What is it : A bomb that creates a high pitched scream. Can disorient monsters with large ears or potent hearing, recommended to use during a large attack.

Item : Pitfall Trap

Combine : Net + Trap Tool

What is it : A trap that ensnares a monster and holds it underground for a brief period of time, often exposing its head.

Item : Shock Trap

Combine : Trap Tool + Thunderbug

What is it : A trap that ensnares a monster in electricity, holding them in place.

Item : Tinged Meat

Combine : Raw Meat + Parashroom

What is it : A chunk of meat that will be eaten by salivating monsters, it will affect them with a short bout of paralysis

Item : Poisoned Meat

Combine : Raw Meat + Toadstool

What is it : A chunk of meat that will be eaten by salivating monsters, it will affect them with a poison effect.

Item : Drugged Meat

Combine : Raw Meat + Sleep Herb

What is it : A chunk of meat that will be eaten by salivating monsters, it will cause them to fall asleep temporarily.
