Agnaktor

Family : Leviathan

Size : Gigantic

Element : Fire

Description

The Agnaktor is the mature form of the Uroktor; a gigantic dragon-like creature that inhabits the Volcano. It is notable for its flaming hot Heat Beam and ability to dig through the ground. When it’s been above ground for a long time, Agnaktor’s body hardens, vastly reducing the damage it takes.

Key Attacks

Slither : The Agnaktor moves itself down to the ground and slithers forward at great speed.

Body Slam : The Agnaktor turns on its side and looks towards the hunter and then throws itself towards the hunter.

Peck Charge : The Agnaktor slams its beak into the ground, moving forward with each peck.

Heat Beam : The Agnaktor will launch a fiery beam towards the hunter. This may be followed by a sweeping horizontal beam. This beam can also be shot from out in the lava.

Dig : The Agnaktor burrows underground and starts to 'swim' through the floor and ceiling, attacking with its entire body. It can also emerge aggressively, similar to its smaller Uroktor brethren.

Recommended Strategy

The Agnaktor has two clear 'phases' - ground and burrow. During its ground phase you’re recommended to move close and attack its front feet or tail. Dodge after attack, but try and stay close.

Give the Agnaktor any distance and you’re asking for a Heat Beam to the face. When the Agnaktor burrows, move. Move, move, move. The beast is fast and will attack quickly.

Notes:

  • When low on stamina, Agnaktor's Heat Beam will fail.
  • Throwing a Sonic Bomb the moment an Agnaktor has burrowed will trap it, as if caught in a Pitfall Trap.
