Pokemon Black and White 2 Guide Guide Info

To Gym 2

Route 20 - to Virbank

Wild Pokemon

The same ones can be found when you were here previously. Please see the section Gym 1 - Route 20 for details.

Note: Pokemon found in dark grass are higher level than usual.

Run back to where the Hiker blocking the road was. He will now let you pass, but as soon as you move close to him, he challenges you to a battle!

Trainer Battle: Hiker

Pokemon Level Type
Riolu 11 Fighting

Prevail against the Hiker to be allowed passage to the rest of Route 20.

Once you’ve bested the Hiker, hurry south down the steps. At the base of the steps you will come upon a Preschooler. If you don’t wish to battle him, run past him when he’s looking the other way. If not, make preparations for war.

Trainer Battle: Preschooler

Pokemon Level Type
Psyduck 10 Water

Once the battle is over, Cheren and Hugh will appear. Cheren will then give you an explanation of how Dark Grass works and how it differs from regular grass. Once he finishes the explanation he gives you a Pecha Berry x3 and leaves.

Just to the south of where Hugh is now standing in the dark grass is a Great Ball . Go over and grab it. You may want to hang around the dark grass for a while to catch some Pokemon and train your own. When you’re ready, continue up the stairs to your north-east. You’ll be stopped by a second Preschooler first, however.

Trainer Battle: Preschooler

Pokemon Level Type
Lillipup 10 Water

After moving up the first set of steps, go right, straight into the grass. Move over to the item and pick it up to receive an Antidote . You can now continue up the steps on this side until you reach the top, or go back around to the steps facing out west and challenge the trainer waiting there.

Trainer Battle: Nursery Aide

Pokemon Level Type
Dunsparce 11 Normal

After you’re done, ascend the steps to your right. You’ll see an item to your north. Go and grab it to find out it’s a Dire Hit . Then head up the last set of steps and turn right. Ahead is your first Double Battle! Walk up to the Twins and let them challenge you.

If you spot two trainers side by side, chances are it's a double battle waiting to happen. You can also encounter wild double battles in the dark grass.

Double Battle: Twins

Pokemon Level Type
Sunkern 9 Grass
Sunkern 9 Grass

After you’ve educated the twins, continue through the gate past them. The person in charge of the gate will give you two Great Balls when you try and go past. When you’re done here, continue into Virbank City.
