Cave of Being

Cave of Being

To reach the Cave of Being, Fly to Floccesy Town . Head north out of town into Route 20 . Head east over the bridge, then north through the Tall Grass. Head east down the stairs, south along the past, then east over to the water there. Use Surf and head south, then west over to the waterfall.

Use Waterfall to move up it. Head west, then south between the rocks. Follow the path around until you reach the entrance to the Cave of Being . Head inside. Now that you’ve beaten the Elite Four, Professor Juniper will be inside the cave. Move up behind her and she’ll spin around.

Speak with Juniper, then head north past her. You’ll be brought into the centre of the cave and three Legendaries, known as the Lake Guardian Trio, will appear before fleeing the cave. Guess what? They’re now spread out across the Unova region!

Pokemon Location
Mesprit Celestial Tower
Azelf Route 23
Uxie Nacrene City

You can head out and catch them immediately if you want or save them for a rainy day; it’s up to you. Personally, it might be a good idea to jot down their locations, then go and encounter them as you go through our Post-game walkthrough in order.

Either way, their details can be found below.

Celestial Tower - Mesprit

From Mistralton City , head out into Route 7 . Go all the way through to Celestial Tower at the end. Move up to the top floor of the tower. Here you’ll find Mesprit by attempting to walk up the stairs to the bell. You’ll stop and be asked a question. Answer 'Yes' and it’ll appear!

Feel free to take it on. You can, of course, try and catch it. If you decide to, Save first as you only get one chance. If you fail to catch it, simply reload your game and try again.

Legendary Pokemon Battle

The battle for Mesprit.

Pokemon Level Type
Mesprit 65 Psychic

Honestly, all three are very similar to capture. As they only have Psychic-type moves, fielding a Dark-type Pokemon would be ideal, so they take zero damage. Especially Dark-type Pokemon like Absol, who also have access to False Swipe so you’re in no danger of fainting them.

Mespirit is the balanced member of the trio and can use Charm to massively drop your Attack. But since it can’t heal itself, this doesn’t really affect you much, besides slowing down the battle somewhat. Once you’re done here, you can use Fly on the top of Celestial Tower to leave.

Route 23 - Azelf

From the Victory Road Pokemon Centre, head south into Route 23 . Head Go the stairs and under the bridge until you reach the T-intersection. Take the path leading west until you reach the small tree. Use Cut on it, then head west along the path that you just opened.

Keep going past the next small tree to the point where the path forks, with both paths continuing to lead west. Take the lower path and head up the stairs onto the small platform. Move onto the tile just at the top of the northern-most part of the stairs. Select the 'Yes' option and Azelf will appear.

Feel free to take it on. You can, of course, try and catch it. If you decide to, Save first as you only get one chance. If you fail to catch it, simply reload your game and try again.

Legendary Pokemon Battle

Pokemon Level Type
Azelf 65 Psychic

Azelf is more offensive-oriented and can use Nasty Plot to greately boost its Special Attack. This is will suck unless you have Pokemon that take reduced damage from Psychic-type moves or, better still, a Dark-type Pokemon to take no damage whatsover (bar your moves copied by Copycat).

Nacrene City - Uxie

Inside Nacrene City , head to the front of the Nacrene Museum. Walk into the very centre of the paved circle in front of the museum. When you move onto the tile, you will be asked a question. Answer 'Yes' and the last of the Lake Guardians, Uxie, will appear.

Take it on, the same as the others. You can, of course, try and catch it. If you decide to, Save first as you only get one chance. If you fail to catch it, simply reload your game and try again.

Legendary Pokemon Battle

The battle for Uxie.

Pokemon Level Type
Uxie 65 Psychic

Uxie specialises in defence and likes to use Amnesia to rapidly boost its Special Defence. Again, Dark-type Pokemon are ideal here, as they take no damage from Uxie, unless Uxie uses Copycat. Even still, if it copies False Swipe, you’re in no danger whatsoever, right?
