Guide

You came here during your journey to Gym 2, but your visit was certainly short-lived thanks to your inability to swim. However, with Surf under your belt, that’s no longer a problem!

Begin by heading left from the entrance, past the area where you battled the Plasma Grunts. Surf into the water on the left and head south-west towards the other side. Grab the Elixir nearby, then follow the path down and right.

Along the way, pick up the Escape Rope (will be useful for quickly leaving the cave later) and descend the stairs on the right.

Floor B1F

Welcome to darkness. Immediately have a Pokemon use Flash to brighten up your surroundings. Go down the steps to the right, then follow the narrow path up.

On both sides of the path are large pools of water. If you want, Surf right to pick up TM47 Low Sweep next to a ledge.

At the end of the path, you should notice some martial artists pacing back and forth. If you want, you can run straight into them for a couple of heated matches. Or if you prefer the stealthy route, Surf to your left and go all the way around them.

Trainer Battle: Black Belt

Black Belts obviously use Fighting types and they are well worth the EXP you get.

Past the martial artists, you can find a variety of items if you look around. Of note, Surf towards the north-most area of the cave to discover TM52 Focus Blast . Having checked every nook and cranny for items, use an Escape Rope to exit the cave.
