Pokémon Battles

Partner Powers

These are extra-special moves that only your partner Pikachu or Eevee can perform. Occasionally, you may notice an icon of Pikachu or Eevee hugging a Joy-Con above the "Fight" button. When this icon appears, you can shake the Joy-Con or Poké Ball Plus to trigger a Partner Power. If playing in Handheld mode, this isn’t possible.

A Partner Power functions the same as a normal move. So it’s essentially a 5th move for your partner. It can also be used when your partner isn’t currently in battle. The chance of a Partner Power being available is random, but you can increase it by playing with your partner and increasing their Affection.

Move Type Category Description
Pika Power Electric Special Damage scales with your partner's Friendship. Never misses.

Move Type Category Description
Veevee Volley Normal Physical Damage scales with your partner's Friendship. Never misses.

If you trigger a Partner Power when your partner isn’t in battle, your current Pokémon’s stats will all increase by 1 stage.
