Watch out as Pokemon trainers can use the mirrors to see you...

Once you’re inside the cave; follow the path along and you’ll get stopped by a backpacker.

Trainer Battle: Backpacker Lane

Pokémon Level Type
Linoone 26 Normal

Head east and you’ll come upon an area with paths leading off in plenty of directions. Take the north one. At the end of it you’ll find a Nest Ball . Backtrack to the part with all the paths leading off.

Take the path leading east, behind the mound (it’s fairly obscured and hard to see so look out for it). At the end of it is a Revive . Head back to the paths. Now head south and continue south until you run into a trainer.

Trainer Battle: Battle Girl Hedvig

Pokémon Level Type
Throh 25 Fighting
Hawlucha 26 Fighting/Flying

This cave is one of the few places where you can catch a Mime Jr.

Head south from the trainer and you’ll see stairs leading down east. Move down them, then move east, north of the elevated area with the item on it. You’ll move around to the other side and be able to move up the stairs. Do so to come upon a Moon Stone that you can pick up.

Once you have it, head back to the trainer and head east from her. You’ll come upon another trainer.

Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer Monique

Pokémon Level Type
Doduo 24 Normal/Flying
Helioptile 25 Electric/Normal
Granbull 24 Fairy

Continue east. You’ll then see stairs leading down nearby and a path leading north. The path leading north leads nowhere currently; so take the stairs. Once you’re on the next floor; head to the nearby person with them and speak with them to heal your Pokémon. Feel free to speak with them whenever to heal your Pokémon from now on.

Head east down the stairs. Don’t take on the trainer just yet; but move east past it. Head around to the back of the hill with the item on it to find the stairs leading up to it. Go up them and grab the item to find out that it’s a Black Belt . Head back to the trainer and challenge her.

Tip #026: Damage-Boosting Items

When held by Pokemon, certain items like the Black Belt boost the damage of a particular type of moves - in the Black Belt’s case, Fighting-type moves. If you have a spare hold slot, it might be worthwhile seeing if you have any of these items to make your moves hurt more.

Trainer Battle: Tourist Monami

Pokémon Level Type
Nidorina 26 Poison

Your friends turn out to be rather helpful as you progress through the game.

Head south and you’ll bump into Tierno. He’ll give you TM70 - Flash . Keep on following the path until you reach the stairs leading up to the elevated strip. Go up them and grab the nearby Escape Rope . Follow the elevated strip around to the stairs leading back down and take them. Continue east to the black belt.

Trainer Battle: Black Belt Igor

Pokémon Level Type
Sawk 28 Fighting

Keep following the path to the next trainer.

Trainer Battle: Psychic Franz

Pokémon Level Type
Chimecho 24 Psychic
Golett 24 Ground/Ghost

Continue north to the next trainer.

Trainer Battle: Tourist Haruto

Pokémon Level Type
Nidorino 26 Poison

Continue north-east. You’ll see a Tourist couple staring at the wall. Look east of them to find a Hyper Potion . Now move behind them to begin a battle.

Double Battle: Honeymooners Yuu & Ami

Only female Combee can evolve; the poor males can't catch a break.

Pokémon Level Type
Combee 26 Bug/Flying
Vespiquen 26 Bug/Flying

Keep heading west. When you reach the Ace Trainer. Move down and take him on.

Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer Emil

Pokémon Level Type
Absol 26 Dark
Pinsir 25 Bug

If you head south from the trainer; you’ll reach the ramp back down to the previous area. Instead; head south then west from him and you’ll find stairs leading down. Head through them. Head west, then north all the way to the back wall. From there; head east and head up the steps to the area above.

Move along south then head back down the stairs and grab the Earth Plate there. Now head back to the back wall and head west. Look in the reflection to see a door somewhere along the back. Head inside. Head south until you see TM74 - Gyro Ball to your west. Pick it up then continue south into the next room.

There’s no reason to head west here just yet, so just head back east over the ledge and back up the stairs. Move back to where the Ace Trainer was and head north then west from him, down the stairs. You’ll find some Iron here. Pick it up then head west and up the stairs into the next area. There’s a Hiker here. Take him on!

Trainer Battle: Hiker Dunstan

Pokémon Level Type
Sandile 22 Ground/Dark
Diggersby 24 Normal/Ground
Dwebble 23 Bug/Rock

You can use Strength to push the boulder into the hole to your south to create a shortcut back to the start of the cave if you so wish. Other than that; you can talk to the scientist to the west or just head on out!
