You’ll begin outside the actual Frost Cavern. Head north to the Hiker to challenge him to a warm-up battle before he freezes to death waiting.
Trainer Battle: Hiker Ross
Head east from there. You’ll see a Sky Trainer up on a ledge. Move over to him and he’ll challenge you. Accept and the battle will begin, assuming you have at least one Pokémon that’s capable of flying or that Levitates.
Trainer Battle: Sky Trainer Celso
Head north from there, over the bridge. You’ll talk with the man here, as well as Trevor. Once the conversation is over, head east, then north. On the cliff face opposite you’ll see another Sky Trainer. Feel free to take her on.
Trainer Battle: Sky Trainer Era
Head back to where Trevor is. Now move north-west following the path. You’ll see an Artist here, who you can distract with a Pokemon battle.
Trainer Battle: Artist Salvador
Inside the cave itself, there’s an Ace Trainer running around in circles just ahead. Step into her line of sight to begin another battle.
Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer Cordelia
Once you’ve trumped the Ace Trainer, head north into the next room. Use your Dowsing Machine to find the Dire Hit here, then walk back to the Ace Trainer. Head east from her, over the ice. Slide east, then north along the ice to get across it.
Move north until you see the ice to your east. Enter the ice from the top of the two tiles so that you only slide onto the little patch of snow on the ice. Turn on your Dowsing Machine here and find the nearby Dusk Ball . Now head east over the rest of the ice and take the Ace Trainer on.
Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer Neil
Head north into the next room. Move up to the ice. Slide north over it to the snow there. Use your Dowsing Machine to check the nearby rock for an Ice Heal . Slide south from the tile next to the rock.
Now slide east, south, west, north and you’ll wind up on a snow patch. Now move as far to the south of the snow patch as possible without moving onto the ice. Once you’re there; head west and you’ll slide up to a Hiker who will promptly challenge you.
Trainer Battle: Hiker Delmon
After that, head to the north-east part of the snow island and head north from it. You’ll find an Ice Heal after sliding over the ice. Slide back to the snow island. Now slide south from the western edge of the current snow patch. Slide west from there and you’ll be out of the current ice maze! Move west and you’ll reach the next one.
There’s two entrances to it. Take the bottom one to take on two trainers in a double battle.
Double Battle: Brains & Brawn Eoin & Wolf
Move north from them onto the ice. Now slide west and south back onto the snow. Move one tile west, then slide north along the ice again. Slide west then north again, onto the snow patch by the Black Belt. Head over and take him down!
Trainer Battle: Black Belt Alonzo
Head south from him to reach the Battle Girl. Fight time!
Trainer Battle: Battle Girl Kinsey
Head west until you’re next to the river. Use Surf on it and head over to the other side. Follow the path around to find stairs down to the next floor. Here’ll you find an ice-covered rock which will come in handy later. There’s also an Icy Rock in the south-east corner that you should pick up.
Walk back out of the room and Surf back over the water. Now let’s continue south. Enter the next lot of ice by the tiles west of the small rock. You’ll be on a small patch of snow. Use your Dowsing Machine to find the nearby Pearl . Now head west onto the ice. Now slide south, then east, then south. You’ll be past this ice puzzle.
Tip #047: Evolve Eevee Into Glaceon
No joke; Game Freak isn’t about to run out of novel ways to evolve Pokemon any time soon. Take Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon - it can evolve into eight different Pokemon, through a variety of means. One of them, Glaceon , requires you to take Eevee to the ice-covered rock mentioned above. Who would’ve thought?
Now move back onto the ice by sliding north, entering the ice as far west as you can so that you bump into the small rock. Head east from the small rock and you’ll reach the nearby item. Pick it up. It’s a Max Repel . Slide west to the small snow patch there. Now slide west again.
You’ll bump into the edge of the water, but you’ll now be south of the rocks in the water that were blocking your way before. Use Surf here to head onto the water. Head south along the water all the way to a little area at the end that contains a Never-Melt Ice! Awesome!
Now Surf back north and head back onto the ice where you came off. Slide back east onto the snow patch. Move south one tile so that you’re on the southern of the two snow tiles there, then slide back east, then south. You’ll once again be past this ice maze. Head south and you’ll move down to the next floor.
Speak with the nearby girl to have your Pokémon healed. You can do this anytime now. Head down and grab the Hyper Potion . If you want to quickly leave the cavern, you can now slide down the ramp to your east, but remember it’s one way! Okay, now let’s walk over to the Hiker. Fight time!
Trainer Battle: Hiker Alain
When he’s defeated, head up the stairs and turn on your Dowsing Machine. Use it to find the Super Potion . Sweet. Head up the next set of stairs. Move north and slide north over the ice. Take on the Black Belt here.
Trainer Battle: Black Belt Kenji
Head east from the Black Belt, over the ice to the Hiker there. Let’s go!
Trainer Battle: Hiker Brent
Now head west back to the Black Belt. Frome there, slide over the ice heading south, but make sure you enter onto the ice so that you bump into the north-side of the small rock just south of the snow patch. When you do, head east into a little alcove, then south, then west, then south. You’ll now be off the ice. Head south and take on the Battle Girl!
Trainer Battle: Battle Girl Gabrielle
Check the small rock next to her to find an Elixir . Once you’ve done that, go up to the ice leading east and slide along it. Move over to the ice sliding south and then slide along then. From there, move up the side of the ice that you just moved over and head east over it to get to the item in the alcove there. It’s a Zinc .
Head back over then go south to the stairs. Move down them. Here you’ll find a maze. Now, turns out you can move diagonally over the ice too, by using the Circle Pad. So head onto the ice at the north-west corner. Slide east along the edge to the north-east corner. Now slide south, then slide north-west.
From there slide south straight onto the snow. Grab the TM there, it’s TM79 - Frost Breath! Once you’re done here, head back up stairs and to where the Battle Girl is. Head north from the Battle Girl, onto the ice. Now slide west, then south, then east, then north. You’ll wind up on snow next to an item - an Ether .
Now head east, south, west, south and finally east. You’ll be back on the snow south of the Black Belt. Slide north to the Black Belt. Head north past him to find three Team Flare members. Trevor will come up behind. After much talking it’ll be time to take on one of the Grunts!
Trainer Battle: Team Flare Grunt
After she’s taken care of, speak with the leader of the trio. Ready? Fight!
Trainer Battle: Team Flare Mable
After you take out Mable and Team Flare leaves, be sure to speak with the Abomasnow. It’ll hand you an Abomasite , which lets you Mega Evolve your own Abomasnow! Now use your Dowsing Machine to find the PP Up hidden to the east. You’re done here! Backtrack out of the cave using an Escape Rope or whatnot.
Finally, run back to Dendemille Town . Now you can head to the next route! Take the east exit out of town!
