Two more gyms to go!

Head east from the gate. When you see tall grass to the south, take the path leading south just next to the tall grass. You’ll get jumped by a hidden Pokémon Ranger. Whoa, don’t scare us like that!

Trainer Battle: Pokemon Ranger Silas

Pokémon Level Type
Quagsire 39 Water/Ground
Beartic 39 Ice

Revive restore 50% of a KO'd Pokémon's maximum Hit Points (HP).

Once he’s taken care of, follow the path south, then west. You’ll see a pile of leaves here. Move through them to break them up. This will reveal an item. Pick it up. It’s a Revive . Head back past the tall grass to the main path. Head east once more.

Break up the leaf piles as you go and you’ll reveal an item hidden in one. Pick it up to reveal that it’s a Net Ball . Now head south. You’ll run into a Hex Maniac. Let’s go!

Trainer Battle: Hex Maniac Luna

Pokémon Level Type
Chimecho 40 Psychic

Now that she’s taken care of, head back north-east to the ledge. Jump over and grab the Leppa Berry on the ground here. Now turn on your Dowsing Machine and check just to the left of the tree. You should be able to use it to find a hidden Antidote .

After you have it, head south and jump over that ledge there. A Pokémon Ranger will jump out from a pile of leaves and once again surprise you. He’ll claim you surprised him. What a jerk!

Trainer Battle: Pokemon Ranger Dean

Pokémon Level Type
Watchog 39 Normal
Swoobat 39 Psychic/Flying
Seadra 39 Water

From there, head south then east over to the leaf pile by the water. You’ll find out it’s another trainer!

Trainer Battle: Pokemon Ranger Keith

Pokémon Level Type
Vileplume 41 Grass/Poison

Even though Rock Smash is a TM, it can be used on the field like a HM.

Moving through the leaf pile to your west, you’ll find an item beneath. It’s a Dire Hit . Next, instead of crossing over the bridge; move close to the water north of the bridge. Surf onto the water and follow the river north. You’ll eventually reach two land areas, one on either side. Head onto the east one first to find a PP Up hidden in a leaf pile.

Now head over to the other side. Pull out your Dowsing Machine and use it to find the hidden Tiny Mushroom . Now head west over the ledge, then south over the next ledge. You’ll be back where you were before. Walk south to the bridge over the water and cross it.

Head south through the tall grass. Follow the path you find as it turns west. Keep going until you reach the stepping stones over the water. Jump over them and take the Full Heal there. Now backtrack back past the tall grass. You’ll see a pair of trainers to your east. Move over and battle them in a double battle.

Double Battle: Mysterious Sisters Rune & Rime

Pokémon Level Type
Drifblim 40 Ghost/Flying
Floette 40 Fairy

Continue east, over the bridge. There you’ll receive a Holo Clip. It’s Lysandre. Once it’s over, head into the tall grass to your north-east. You’ll see a crack in the wall nearby. Use Rock Smash on it and move on through. You’ll find a Macho Brace here. Now head back outside, back past the grass. Head south and you’ll run into a girl.

Tip #042: Feeling Macho?

The Macho Brace item is great for training your Pokemon, as any Pokemon holding onto it gains double the amount of EVs, thus boosting their stats quicker. At this point, it’s possible you’ve maxed your EVs or are close to (check the bar on the right side of the Super Training screen), so it’s best to leave it for fresh blood.

Trainer Battle: Fairy Tale Girl Mahalyn

Pokémon Level Type
Dedenne 37 Electric/Fairy
Aromatisse 39 Fairy

From there, head east. You can head through the gate you see now if you want to get to Dendemill Town to heal up, otherwise let’s head north. You’ll see a Hex Maniac by the entrance to the abandoned house. Let’s battle her!

Trainer Battle: Hex Maniac Carrie

Pokémon Level Type
Litwick 38 Ghost/Fire
Duosion 38 Psychic

After she’s beaten, head into the abandoned building and up the stairs. Turn your Dowsing Machine on and head around second floor. You should be able to use it to find the hidden X Defense . Now head back to the first floor and down the stairs. You’ll be in a new area!
