Player 2: Make your way over to the edge of the metal ledge and look to the wall on your left (where the Excursion Funnel is hitting), and you want your first portal on the funnel’s point of impact and then on the wall panel to the left, this’ll create a funnel that leads into the spike-ridden obstacle course.

Player 1: Jump into the funnel and once you pass through the force field, set a portal on the wall in front of you and then on the panel on the floor. Once you reach the top you need to be in constant communication to get through the rest of the course (so this is where you’ll both preferably have access to a headset).

Player 2: You need to be constantly ready to respond to player 1’s situation by standing on or off the red button on the floor, this’ll redirect the flow of the funnel (so to make your life that little bit easier, zoom in with your portal gun to keep a closer eye on your team mate).

Player 1: Fire a portal on the wall panel directly opposite you, then ask your colleague to stand on the red button and this will draw you over to the other side of the spikes. As you reach the end look up above you for another wall panel that you need to fire your portal into. Ask your friend to stand off the button so you begin to descend towards the spikes below. Halfway down you should notice a wall panel, so get your funnel coming out of here.

Player 2: You need to be really quick for the next part of the spike course as there’s a looping spike panel that will keep coming down from the ceiling in an effort to crush your teammate. Stand off the button until your friend gets a bit too close to the crusher (if you think they’re too close, stand on the button to drag them back a bit). Ideally you want them to be pushing into the spike panel when it’s fully extended, as they’ll simply coast past as it retracts towards the ceiling again.

Player 1: You’ll next find yourself in another vertical part of the course with another spiked crusher coming from left to right halfway up. So get a portal below you so you’re ascending upwards and if you think the spikes are going to come across as you’re going up, ask player 2 to step on the button to bring you down a bit. As soon as you pass the trap, look straight ahead for the arrows pointing to the wall panel in the distance.

Player 1: Quickly get the portal funnel on the wall and ask player 2 to step onto the red button again. As you approach the platform below, step out of the excursion funnel and peer of the edge and you should spot a turret guarding the Companion Cube. Jump down and to the left of the Turret (making it much harder to spot you in time), pick up the Cube and use it to knock the turret over, disabling it.

Player 1: Drop the Cube momentarily and look directly up at the ceiling, set your funnel up here and then ask your buddy to stand back on the button again. This’ll pull you up towards the ceiling and right out across the spike pit. Just before you go through the next portal in front of you, step out of the funnel to the ledge on your left.   Player 1:  Get your friend to come to the edge of the platform above and hold your Companion Cube up, as they aim down, you should jump up and release the Cube as player 2 grabs it from you.

Player 2: Set the Cube down for a moment and peer over the ledge in front of you, set your funnel exit portal on the single square panel on the floor, creating an excursion funnel that’s extending to the ceiling in front of you.  Player 1: As soon as your Cube carrying buddy reaches the top, place a portal on the angled wall panel on the left and then aim at the ground panel directly below player 2. Fire your second portal and your colleague will drop down and take the Cube directly across to the exit.

Player 1: Now set a portal on the wall to your immediate left (where the main funnel is travelling into) and this’ll recreate a funnel going upwards from the ground. Jump into the funnel and simply sit still until you reach the ceiling. Now fire a portal at the angled wall panel below you and as you are dropping down. The velocity will carry you over to the exit, where player 2 should have already sat the Cube in the switch, raising the stairwell to the exit.
