Game Difficulty

Resident Evil 6 has four difficulties available from the start: Amateur, Normal, Veteran and Professional. Completing a campaign on Professional unlocks a fifth difficulty for that campaign called 'No Hope'. There are various statistics tweaked depending on the difficulty:

  • Amateur difficulty performs quick time events (QTE's) for you automatically.
On higher difficulties, enemies will be stronger in the following aspects:
  • Enemies attack more frequently.
  • Enemies move faster.
  • Enemies stand up faster after being floored.
  • Enemies hit more often during multi-hit attacks.
  • The chance that a J'avo mutates increases.
  • Stunning/Dazing enemies is harder; chance for this decreases.
  • The interval between enemy fire is shorter. In other words, enemies wait less long before shooting again.
  • Duration of a stun/daze is shorter for both gunshots and flash grenades.
  • Enemies have better accuracy and will hit you more frequently as a result.
  • Grapple attacks are greatly sped up and thus have a higher chance of actually grabbing you.
  • You incur more hits and damage during grapple attacks.
  • Rasklapanjes recover more quickly after their temporary death.
