Kasumigaseki

Where have we wound up this time? From appearances, it does look like Tokyo at least.

When you regain control, look around some of the rooms to get an idea of just what the hell kinda world you’re in. In the northeastern room. You’ll be asked where you came from during the conversation.

  • Alignment +5 = Tokyo
  • Alignment ±0 = The Eastern Kingdom of Mikado
Anyways, re-enter the room afterwards and opt to defeat Kenji with Akira. (This is another auto-Alignment minus-one change.) It’s not as simple as going up there and shooting him though, supposedly. First up, pillaging Shinjuku for weapons.

Well, you get a map of Tokyo at least. Go ahead and proceed outside. There, after realizing the exact meaning of certain things prior (you, not anyone else), head northeast and grab the 3-Star Gadget . Far to the south, you can also get a 3-Star Medicine and a 4-Star Medicine . Not much else to do but go north and leave.

Tokyo Overworld Map

Fundamentally, this is the same as your Tokyo, so it’s not going be hard to navigate, thankfully. It is more restricted, though. It’s also more connected, oddly enough - too much so to be easily covered for relics, so you’re on your own for that, though it’s rather worthwhile.

Anyways, head northwest to find Ichigaya, then west to the poison pits. Cross the southern shore heading west to find Shinjuku.

Shinjuku

While visiting Shinjuku, try speaking with a Mitra to get a Challenge Quest, “Tokyo Bay Mixer”.

This quest requires two Vasuki Hide items, found by defeating the rare Vasuki, which can reside in many places, so it’s mostly chance finding him. This quest will yield two Soma as a reward. The deliver is to be made in Shinjuku’s East Entrance (where you first arrive), in the northeastern corner’s room.

Grab the 3-Star Clothing and 3-Star Document clearly visible to the south. Approach the gap in the fence to the west to encounter a demon.

Boss: Vetala

**Level** **Race** **Weakness** **Resistance** **Nullifies**
59 Ghost Fire N/A N/A

After the battle, go through the gate and southwest to find a corpse yielding a Dis-Poison and another to the west with a Chakra Drop . Head to the western wall and go north to find yet another with a Chakra Drop .

Head north-northeast of there into the alcove to find two 3-Star Cosmetics and a 3-Star Clothing . Head now into the underground; the entrance is in the southwest sector, as usual.

There, you can heal at the Association to the east - no quests, though. If you west along the southern wall, you can find the Infernal Shinjuku Weapon Shop. Further west, you’ll find the Infernal Shinjuku Drug Store. Stock up as desired.

Also note that the Terminal is in its normal location, so you know. Anyways, examine the western shutter and opt to enter the Matr– I mean Domain.

Boss: Yaksha Horde and Mahamayuri

Yaksha Horde

**Level** **Race** **Weakness** **Resistance** **Nullifies**
58 Horde Force N/A Ice (Repel)

Mahamayuri

**Level** **Race** **Weakness** **Resistance** **Nullifies**
59 Deity Electric N/A Ice (Repel)

Akira gets Shinjuku; you get a completed quest. Win, win!

Lucky you, for finishing the quest, you get about 210,000 EXP. total and 15,000 Macca . Eventually, Walter will ask if you want to return home, out of curiosity.

  • Alignment ±0 = I’d like to go home
  • Alignment -1 = I’m comfortable here
Say as you will, but, in the end, we still have kick Kenji’s butt for the remote - hope it hasn’t fallen between the couch cushions.

If you want to get on with it, see The Tokyo Kingmaker. Otherwise…

The Eastern Kingdom of Mikado is a peaceful land whose inhabitants are rigidly divided into two castes: the common Casualry and the elite Luxurors. You are chosen to become a Samurai, and learn a truth kept hidden from the general population: that beneath Mikado lies Naruku, a realm of demons which the Samurai are tasked with suppressing.
