Chamber 2 formally introduces a number of new game mechanics, such as: shadows, ledges, crouching, switches and turrets. So make sure you’ve read our 'How To' section to familiarise yourself with each of them. Done that? Good. Let’s crack on then…
Turn left, jump up to the ledge in front of you, pull yourself up then jump off this platform to the ledge on the right. Whilst still holding right; jump up and press the switch to open up a tunnel below you (to the right of the entrance). Drop down here and hold crouch whilst pressing right to pass through the tunnel.
Once you’ve made it through the two tunnels, you’ll reappear in a new section with three ledges leading up to a switch at the top. Jump to the first ledge, turn to face the opposite direction then press - and hold - jump to reach the second ledge. Repeat this for the next two ledges until you can reach the switch. Press this to open up access to the next part of the text chamber.
Jump towards the wall on the right and you’ll auto-grab the ledge that’s rest perilously above the red laser beam of instant death. You need to wait for it to disappear before pressing down/crouch, allowing you to drop down to the ledge below (just remember to keep holding right so you auto-grab the ledge below). Wait for the next two beams to briefly turn off before dropping down to the ground below.
This time you’re up against two security cameras, so you need to make it past them whilst their green 'vision cones' are facing directly over the black platform that’s creating the life-saving shadows.
The first camera simply moves from left to right (and back again), over and over. So with the green vision cone facing far left, run underneath the black platform and the camera won’t spot you. Once the vision cone moves to the far right, run to the grey part of the wall and wait here.
The moving black platform is creating a moving shadow that you need to keep up with, so once it gets close enough to cast a shadow to the right, run underneath it and jump out of its shadow once you’re past the camera’s vision cone.
Hack the terminal to open up the exit, but before you run under the moving platform again, drop down and crouch walk left into the black wall to reveal a hidden [Helix]!
With the Helix snapped up, just wait for the platform to cast a shadow over you and run back to the safe zone in the middle. Now wait for the last camera to pan right before waiting under cover and then make a dash for the exit once it’s looking to the left. Job done!
Speedrunner’s Note: A Camera’s vision cone has a bit of 'leeway' when it comes to actually spotting you. You have less than one second (60 frames) to dash past the lower end of a camera’s cone if you want to remain undetected. You can also jump through the upper part of a vision cone (whilst fully visible) and still not alert a camera.
