Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion

How to unlock all of Hojo's Experiments

By
Ben Chard

There are 300 optional missions in Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion. The Hojo’s Laboratory category (M5) features battles against various Hojo Experiments but all of them are not available right away. This page will tell you how to unlock all of them.

The final Experiment is the toughest rematch against Sephiroth.

The Hojo’s Laboratory category is one of the more interesting ones in Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII: Reunion as many of the Experiments that you fight are rematches of story bosses but with higher stats and more attacks. Indeed, the final mission in this category is the toughest battle in the game outside of the "Minerva" iconMinerva superboss.

As a result, unlocking missions in this category works a bit differently than others. Simply completing the preceding missions isn’t enough to unlock the next until you get the final unlock in Chapter 10 which will then make all missions available. The table below will tell you when you can unlock every mission, along with the rewards.

All Hojo’s Laboratory Missions

Of special note with these Experiment missions are the battles against the Zack clones in M5-3-2 and M5-4-5. The final mission in this category, another rematch with Sephiroth, is the toughest battle in the game outside of Minerva, so you’ll want to make sure you have all of the best equipment available before challenging him.
