Gotham Knights

What can you do in New Game+

By
Matt Chard

Once you complete the story on your first playthrough of Gotham Knights, you’ll unlock New Game +. This page will detail everything you need to know about your next run through the game, and let you know what you keep, and what you lose.

Starting New Game + will allow you to keep all your character progression, so you’ll stay the same level you finished the story with, and all abilities, and momentum skills that you unlocked will stay unlocked. All the gear, and blueprints you acquired previously will stay as well. If you didn’t complete all the collectibles on your previous run, you’ll be able to finish them off in New Game +. On the other side of the spectrum, faction presence, and crime difficulties get reset, and you’ll have to unlock all Fast Travels again. The story and side stories will also be reset.

When you start New Game + you’ll lose all story progression.

When you start New Game +, you’ll have to complete the first few missions to gain access to the open world. Then you can continue on as usual, although some things will be locked until you get to certain story missions, like with anything containing the Talon faction. If you’re predominantly doing New Game + to get the level 40 trophy/achievement, enemies will scale with your level, so make sure your gear is up to snuff, as you’ll be fighting the champion variants of them from the get go.

You can gain quite a lot of exp by doing all the now training tutorials if you didn’t do them previously, with some yielding a huge 20k exp. Otherwise the quickest way is by completing about half of the story while also skipping cutscenes. This should only take you a couple of hours tops by using this method. Another way is to grind out Premeditated Crimes, although this is a little slower. Or you could progress the story enough to gain access to the Talon related activities, and get the Talon (owl) caches which yields a ridiculous amount of exp per cache.

In terms of legendary gear, the enemies can drop them off the bat due to their high level. But it’s easier to do the related trophies in post game as you have access to the contact, and watch missions which regularly reward you with them. You can find out more about legendary gear here.

In short, there really isn’t a good reason to play through New Game + unless you are trophy/achievement hunting, and even then only the Max Level one needs to be completed on New Game +.

Here is a simplified list of what you gain from doing New Game +.

Finally, all the collectibles you’ve aquired thus far will also carry through.
