Candies typically fall under four types: standard candies, L (large) candies, XL (extra-large) candies and species candies. Well, the ones related to AVs anyway–there are also various experience-boosting candies.

For the first three type of candies, they’re also split into 6, one for each key stat. Meanwhile, species candy exist for each evolutionary family of Pokémon. For example, there’s "Pikachu" IconPikachu candy that’s specific to Pikachu and "Raichu" IconRaichu.

Species Candies

These candies increase the all of the Pokémon’s AVs (equivalent to raw stats) by 1, regardless of anything. So they’re extremely useful to have.

Note that Alolan Pokémon can be fed the same candies as their native (Kantonian) forms.
