During the missions in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, you will have to procure your own food. This comes in the form of fruits, animals and plants. These are all hidden across the various maps, so you need to keep your eyes peeled. This page will list the locations for all of the snakes in the game.

Snake A - King Cobra¶

You will need to wait until you’re in Operation Snake Eater to encounter this snake. Once you get to Dremuchij North, there will be a scene where you’re disarmed. As soon as you regain control after this, quickly exit to the south to avoid a Caution status, then return to the same area. North of the area where the cutscene took place, you should see the one tree from Virtuous Mission that had some fruit on it. In the grass right by that tree is the King Cobra.

You can also find the King Cobra in Dremuchij South, during Operation Snake Eater. There is another one later, in Bolshaya Past Crevice, where you fight Ocelot.

Snake B - Taiwanese Cobra¶

It appears the first time you can find a Taiwanese Cobra is in the area right after your real battle with Ocelot. This is in the Chyornaya Peschera Branch area, which is a cave that’s dark. From the beginning of the area, go east/northeast, until you reach a tunnel. Go in the tunnel and at the end of it, you’ll find the snake on the ground. Note that you can come back here after you get the Torch, if needed, since that makes it easier to see in the cave. You can find another one in this area, in a crawlspace, as well as more later in Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior: Outside Walls.

Snake C - Thai Cobra¶

Once you reach Chyornaya Peschera Cave Entrance, which is after defeating The Pain, you’ll happen upon a large clearing that has a bunch of Rats. It is here that you will also find your first instance of the Thai Cobra; there should be two of them here. You’ll find more in Krasnogorje Mountain Base, in an area that also has some Emperor Scorpions. There is another in a cave in Krasnogorje Mountainside, where you find some ammo for the SVD and XM16E1.

Snake D - Coral Snake¶

The Coral Snake can be a dangerous one, since it can bite and poison you. When you reach Chyornyj Prud, the area right after your battle with the Ocelot unit, there will be a few Coral Snakes right on the ground before the water. You’ll also find more in Bolshaya Past Crevice, in the area where you fight The Pain, as well as Syvatogornj South.

Snake E - Milk Snake¶

The first Milk Snake you can find is in Chyornyj Prud, on the shore before the water as soon as you enter, along with some Coral Snakes. You can also find more in Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior: Outside Walls, once you get to that location.

Snake F - Green Tree Python¶

Your first time finding this snake will be during Operation Snake Eater. You will land in Dremuchij East upon the start of the mission and the next area you visit is Dremuchij North. As soon as you drop off the ledge, head forward and as the path starts to narrow, you should see a snake hanging off of a tree’s branch. That is Snake F, or the Green Tree Python.

Snake G - Giant Anaconda¶

The first opportunity for the Giant Anaconda is on the very first screen where you start the game, in Virtuous Mission. Your first priority upon regaining control is to retrieve your backpack stuck in a tree. You will have to climb the tree and drop down from the branch to grab your backpack. This tree is also where you’ll find the Giant Anaconda, as it will be slithering around on the ground around it. If it’s not in the grass, then check the barren areas around it, too.

Later in the game, you’ll be able to find two more spots with this snake. One area is Sokrovenno West, where you have the waterfall stream and it’s also where you can fight The End. Likewise, after escaping Groznyj Grad, you’ll meet up with EVA in Tikhogornyj. You’ll be able to find a Giant Anaconda there.

Snake H - Reticulated Python¶

The Reticulated Python is a fairly common snake that you will see a lot during your journey. You can catch one on the very first screen of the game, Dremuchij South. Look for any movement in the grassy patches, especially in the first area, prior to the tree that has your backpack. You’ll be able to find this snake in grassy patches throughout the rest of the Virtuous Mission, so always keep a lookout for movement in those areas.

Snake I - Snake Liquid¶

There are three snakes that you can find during the boss battle with The Boss. They can be very hard to find, since they are all white and the battle takes place in a field of white flowers. You also have to contend with The Boss’ attacks, but should you stun her, that gives you an opportunity to search for these. You will find three logs in the boss arena, with one snake near each of them. It’s a good idea to go prone and crawl around each log to see if you can find them that way. If you plan on getting all of the trophies/achievements, then you need to find and obtain these three snakes. This is the only location of these snakes in the game, and there’s only one of each.
