Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

How to Increase Combat Strength in Avatar

By
Shane Williams

There are a few RPG elements to Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, such as Skills, Equipment, and Combat Strength, but as you progress through the story you’ll start coming across missions and activities that require you to have a slightly higher Combat Strength. Increasing your Combat Strength isn’t as simple as just gaining XP because it depends on multiple factors.

You can see your Combat Strength in the top right of the screen.

What is Your Combat Strength in Avatar?

Combat Strength is essentially your level in Avatar and if you don’t keep increasing this regularly you’ll start noticing the content becoming too difficult as all the enemies, wildlife, and quests have their own Combat Strength. You’ll want to make sure your Combat Strength match theirs or have yours slightly above if you want to make life a little easier for yourself. You can see your current Combat Strength by opening up the menu, navigating over to the Character Tab, and looking in the top right corner. If you want to know what Combat Strength your opponent has, then you can do so by scanning them with your Na’vi Sense.

What Increases Combat Strength in Avatar?

There are a few ways to increase your Combat Strength and that’s by either upgrading your equipment or by unlocking new skills. However, unlocking new skills won’t increase your Combat Strength by much but you can get a lot of these quickly by interacting with the Tarsyu Flowers and Saplings which are scattered around the world. Additionally, you can also improve your Combat Strength by increasing your total health which can be done by interacting with the Bellsprigs that are also scattered around Pandora.

The easiest way to increase Combat Strength quickly in Avatar is by improving your Armor/Weapons and you can do this by finding loot in the world by restoring Field Labs and completing RDA Outposts. Alternatively, you can use Crafting Benches which can be found in settlements such as the Clan Aranahe Hometree, but these will require you to do a lot of exploring to find the required materials. You’ll also want to make sure you check if you’ve got your best gear equipped, as your Combat Strength won’t be increased with the better equipment sitting in your inventory.

The Equipment is split into five categories, Basic, Fine, Superior, and Exquisite, so you’ll want to try and get your hands on the best quality gear possible to massively increase your Combat Strength. Unfortunately, you won’t start getting higher quality gear until you’ve progressed a fair bit into the game, but you can get better stats on your current equipment by crafting the same piece with Pristine Materials.
