Shaleback Hatchling

Description

A Shaleback Hatchling is a very small Shaleback that you can often find wandering around the edged of Shaleback nests in the river area of the desert. These creatures can be picked up, and transported to an Animal Pen, in which you can feed and mature your Shaleback into one of several Shaleback color variants.

There are four major Shaleback variants you can get, each with their own set of stats and skills.

• Green : The most common: HP and armor has no amour value. Has around 1200 HP.
• Blue: More HP and has some a minor amount of armor value. Also gains a leap skill over other Shalebacks. Typically has around 2k HP.
• Purple: Even more HP and armor than the blue. Attacks also cause sundering and do more damage. Has around 3K HP once you start leveling it up.
• Red: Significantly more HP and armor than the Purple Shaleback. Can have around 4k HP
• Greater: The rarest option of the Shaleback variants. This has around 6-7k HP, depending on buffs at level 20, has the most armor, sundering, damage and HP. If you get this you likely have the best early game open world and base tank pet you can get.

Shaleback Hatchling Food

There’s a lot of plant and river food meals you can feed your Shalebacks. From the looks of thing plants offer the worst odds at getting better Shaleback variants. Meanwhile, the shellfish offer the better chances at the much stronger red and greater options. If you add Shadowspice to shellfish, then your chances improve even further.

• Desert Berries - Around 70% for Green, and even 10% split for the colored varieties.
• Exotic Shellfish - Approximately 50% for Green, 20% Purple, 15% for Red and Greater
• Highland Berries - Roughly 80% chance for Green, 10% for Blue, 5% for Red and Purple.
• Plant Fiber - Roughly 90% for Green, 5% for Blue, and the remaining percentage between Red and Purple
• Savory Shellfish - Approximately 70% chance for Green, 15% for Purple, 7-8% for Red and Greater
• Shadowspiced Desert Berries - Approx 55% Green, and even split for Purple, Red and Greater.
• Shadowspiced Exotic Shellfish - 40% Green, 20% Purp, Red and Greater.
• Shadowspiced Highland Berries - Around 65% chance for Green, 15% Blue, and the remaining 20% for Red and Purple.
• Shadowspiced Plant Fiber - Around 75% Green, 10% Blue, remaining percentage split between Red and Purple.
• Shadowspiced Rotten Shellfish - Around 60% Green, and 10-15% for the Purple, Red and Greater.
• Shadowspiced Shellfish - 50% Green, 20% Purple, 15% Red and Greater
• Shadowspiced Vines - Around 75% Green, 10% Blue, remaining percentage split between Red and Purple.
• Unappetizing Shellfish - 75% Green, 10% Purp, 10% Red, 5% Greater.
• Vines - Roughly 80% chance for Green, 10% for Blue, 5% for Red and Purple.
