The Forge Daughter in Hollow Knight Silksong is one of the few friendly faces you can meet in the Deep Docks. This molten hellscape is filled with crafters and tinkerers, and the Forge Daughter is no exception. She can make you a variety of items for you to craft if you wish to, and you will certainly need one of the tool belt items she can give you to progress through this level to. Here’s everything you neef to know about the Forge Daughter.

Forge Daughter uses

Speaking to the Forge Daughter will eventuially reveal her inventory to you

Item Description Cost
"Sting Shard" iconSting Shard An offensive tool that you can throw to deploy a spike trap that can trigger either a shooting blade effect if damaged, or a repeated stabbing attack when activated via proximity 140 "Rosaries" iconRosaries and 1x "Craftmetal" iconCraftmetal.
"Magma Bell" iconMagma Bell Defensive topol belt item that gives you some leeway with heat damage you take. Costs 110 Rasaries and 1x Craft Metal.
Crafting Kit A inventory item that will passively increase the damage of all of your tools 180 "Rosaries" iconRosaries
"Shard Bundle" iconShard Bundle A bundle of shard, which are used for tool replenishment and certain gather Wishes. 50 "Rosaries" iconRosaries

Out of all the options, we absolutely recommend getting the "Magma Bell" iconMagma Bell. The damage lee way this item gives as defensive tool belt option in extremely valuable exploring the Deep Docks. There’s platforming with hot coals, which will hurt you if you don’t use this. There’s also other critters that use heat attacks, so getting protective shield that recharges over time will be extremely useful for completing this area safely.

We also strongly recommend getting the Sewing Kit. The reason is because stronger tools are needed for beating some of the harder bosses in the game. The Sewing Kit will flat increase your damage, and is useful to everyone no matter what tool belt combos or Crests you use.

If you don’t have any "Craftmetal" iconCraftmetals, you can get them from the following locations:

  • Sold by the Bone Bottom vendor (Pebb) for 60 "Rosaries" iconRosaries
  • Another is looted from an area in The Marrow, towards the top right part of the region in a secret area you need to enter via hitting one of the exploding wall pieces.
  • A third one is inside the Deep Docks "Simple Key" iconSimple Key room which you can unlock after you unlock the dash skill. Requires a Simple Key.

The "Sting Shard" iconSting Shard is a good tool too. This is great for some of the annoying enemies that flie or run back and forth in the Deep Docks. It’s also handy for very mobile ads like the Ants in the Marches, the Scizzor people in Greymoore and some of the mobile bosses too. Getting the "Pollip Pouch" iconPollip Pouch from the Rite of the Pollip makes it even better as it will deal more damage with the Sewing Kit and then poison damage with each hit, which is handy via the proximity mine attack.

Also, the Forge Daughter is someone you can come back to later for the Ruined Tool item. She can repair it with Craftmetal and Rosaries, which will give you the "Silkshot" iconSilkshot tool, albeit a triple burst assault rifle version of it. She is one of three locations that forges the ruined tool into a different weapon.
