This achievement can be earned once you’ve established yourself as a force to be reckoned with in Calradia. There are two ways to earn tribute from other factions. The first is perhaps more intuitive: you control a powerful faction which has the potential to overwhelm and destroy another faction, that other faction pays you tribute as part of an agreement so that you won’t take any hostile action. You can earn tribute in this way from neutral factions, enemy factions (eventually), and tentatively allied factions, but you may need to force this as a condition of terms when you negotiate peace with them.

The other situation in which you have the potential to earn tribute occurs if you’re a small faction. In this scenario, you may have been raiding villages and caravans belonging to a much larger and more powerful faction than your own. The leader of the faction that you’ve been harassing may choose to pay you tribute if you agree to stop raiding their villages and caravans. However, it can take some time before you become enough of a nuisance to force other factions to pay you tribute, so you’ll need to do a lot of raiding first.

In either scenario, you will most likely need to become notorious enough in the eyes of multiple factions if you want to earn 1,000 denars in tribute. It is possible to force terms with one faction by asking them to pay you 1,000 denars or more in a single payment, but otherwise you can earn 1,000 denars in one day if you have consistent tribute coming in from multiple factions. Either way, you need to gain power with your own faction before you can begin to consider forcing tribute.
