The Strategic Sword is one of the more commonly wanted weapons in Where Winds Meet. Either collectors want to unlock all the weapons, or players want that bleed build and burst damage playstyle. No matter which one fits you better, here is a look at how to get the Strategic Sword in Where Winds Meet.

How to Get the Strategic Sword¶
To get the Strategic Sword, you will need to have the following prerequisites:
- You must be level 8
- You must have completed the Skill Theft mission to unlock weapons at the Peace Bell Tower
- You must have the Touch of Death Skill from Volume 1 - The Realm Endures
- You must have a spare Dragon Key
When you have all of these prerequisites complete, you can then enter the side mission to get the Strategic Sword skills.
But first, if you need some assistance, there’s a few tricky things missing. The Touch of Death Skill is located inside the Northern Vow Ruins, which is the large fort south of the General Shrine at the start of the game. Complete that Side Mission and the puzzle to get the skill.
After that, you need Dragon Keys. You can most commonly get these from the first time completing the Tiger Fort, Gourmand’s Grove, and Bloomveil Monastery outposts. You can get them as random rewards for other Outposts’ loot chests though. You can also get them from the level 2 breakthrough feature too. So, you should be able to get a good few fairly simply.
When you have the Skill Theft quest done and the Dragon Key, you can now look for the clue to get the Strategic Sword. The clue in the develop weapon skill when you press obtain should bring you to the area between Palace of Annals and Encircling Lake - Qinghe. When you’re there, you need to use the Dragon Key on the shrine door, which unlocks the dojo. After that you need to sneak through the area, and use Touch of Death to assassinate guards and get through the dojo. From there, sneak around, and eventually use Skill Theft on the master, which will award you the skills and abilities related to the Strategic Sword.
Now that you have the prerequisites away, the Strategic Sword is also paired with the Heavenquake Spear. This too has its own obtain skill theft method, once again needing another Dragon Key to enter. You can find that clue will take you to the Wildmane Ranch - Qinghe. Getting that weapon is key as it offers more bleed synergy with the Strategic Sword, which will help you get more bleeds to hit those juicy bleed bursts. When you have both weapons don’t forget to pick up Fivefold Bleed from Kaifeng City to really round out your build.
