While in the Heavenly Pier village in Where Winds Meet, you’ll naturally uncover plenty of different NPCs and characters, all giving you different encounters, rumors and other side content. One of these is A Foolproof Plan, one of the Wandering Tales type quests you’ll encounter. However, this one is easy to miss. Here’s a closer look at how to beat A Foolproof Plan in Where Winds Meet, find the Parting Tear wine, and complete the mission.

A Foolproof Plan¶
To start and complete this Wandering Tale, you need to do the following steps:
- Find Shu Shu on the hill road west of Heavenly Pier village
- Obtain a Parting Tear wine (either from Lone Drinker’s bench or the pier crate)
- Trade the Parting Tear to Shu Shu for the “treasure map”
- Follow the road west out of Heavenly Pier
- Find Shu Shu confronted by masked soldiers near the bridge
- Speak to the soldiers to complete the tale
- Claim rewards from Journal > Wandering Tales
We recommended you go to the west side of the Heavenly Pier village and wander up the hill towards the south. Start by going to the front of the village and turning right, pass the drinking tavern, and then follow the road towards the actual wooden pier area. From there, turn left up the hill and you should find Shu Shu on the road. He will heckle you about something he can offer.
Now when you speak to the man, you can find that he has a treasure map to give to you. In exchange, he wants one of the Parting Tear flasks of wine going around.
To get your hands on a Parting Tear, you need to do one of the following:
- Grab a Parting Tear from the bench where the Lone Drinker is at the front of the village
- Alternatively, there’s another by the actual wooden pier you pass. Go towards where the woman is stood at the edge of the pier, and check the crate on the left to find the small red jar of it.
When you get either one of the wines, you can return it to Shu Shu and trade it over.
In the deal, he gives you the treasure map. It is a quest item of a wanted poster of Killerblade. You’ve been swindled.

Now, this is not the end of the tale, as there are a few more things you can do.
Now you need to run out of Heavenly Pier and follow the road west. You should come across a bridge on the right. Slightly to the left of the turning you will find Shu Shu, who ran away from you. He will be confronted by the masked soldiers on the road. If you speak to them, you can catch up to Shu Shu and complete the Wandering Tale.
To get your rewards, you need to head into the journal and select Wandering Tales. You should now find A Foolproof Plan filtered to the start. Simply claim the rewards, which should be:
- 30x Echo Jade
- 10 Exploration Points
- 2500 XP
- 2500 coins
