By this point in the game, you are about ready to make your way into Battahl during Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s 
Nation of the Lambent Flame quest. But getting through the gates and into the arid land isn’t easy. You will need to complete a few steps first.
Thankfully, after playing through the game for our Dragon’s Dogma 2 review, we know exactly how to finish the quest and have a step-by-step guide below.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Nation Of The Lambent Flame walkthrough¶
To complete the Nation of the Lambent Flame quest you need to:
- Attend the coronation with Brant
- Purchase the
Beastren Mask from the shopkeeper Ibrahim in the 
Checkpoint Rest Town - Give the
Beastren Border Entry Permit to the guard at the gates with the Beastren Mask equipped. - Make your way to
Bakbattahl
After finishing all the base quests with Brant in Vermund you will be given the Beastren 
Border Entry Permit, which will allow you to enter Battahl through the main route. You can easily get here by going to the Oxcart stop in 
Vernworth which takes you to the Checkpoint Rest Town, which is just outside of the border gate.
At the base level of the town, in the west, you can find Ibrahim, a shopkeeper who will give you a quest to find his son. However, you can also speak to him and purchase a few items, including the Beastren Mask, which is needed to get through the gates to Battahl. So, pick it up and equip it. Back to entering Battahl. Head up the hill in the north, around the town to the gates, and speak to the guard. Here you can give him the Beastren Border Entry Permit and he will let you through.
If you aren’t wearing the Beastren Mask you will be denied entry and unable to access Battahl. You can get into Battahl in a few other ways, but they are not worth the effort you have to put in.
At the base of the town, in the far west, you can find Ibrahim who has the Beastren Mask.
From there, be sure to speak to the guard with the mask equipped.
Once on the other side of the gate, all you have to do is follow the main path towards Bakbattahl. It can be tempting to venture off and explore, but Battahl is pretty tough, especially if you haven’t had a chance to properly upgrade your gear. So, it is best to stick to the main path and get to Bakbattahl first before you go exploring.
When there, be sure to put a Portcrystal location down as it isn’t easy to get to and from Vermund here. Once you reach the outskirts of Bakbattahl you will meet Menella who will tell you about the city, its dislike of pawns, and more.
She will guide you through the city and upon finishing the conversation you will complete the quest and get the next main story quest:
