Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond - Everything You Need To Know

By
Echo Apsey

Helldivers 2’s first post-launch Warbond has been announced, Cutting Edge and it is likely to provide a shocking twist to the game thanks to a host of new weapons, gear, and items to unlock. But, when it is arriving? Below, we will cover everything you need to know about the Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond ahead of its arrival in the game.

If you want to stock up on Medals to spend before purchasing the Warbond for 1,000 Super Credits, then be sure to check out our guide on how to earn Medals in Helldivers 2 quickly! Anyway, let’s get stuck in.

Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond release date

The Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond is confirmed to be released on March 14, 2024, and it is a futuristic, electricity-based Warbond with three new armor sets, five new weapons, and tons of other gear and items to unlock.

Revealed on the PlayStation Blog, the Warbond will cost 1,000 Super Credits to unlock and won’t disappear. So, you can continue to unlock items and weapons months down the line.

Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Weapons

The weapons available in the Cutting Edge Warbond in Helldivers 2 are:

  • LAS-16 Sickle - Laser rifle that fires in short bursts.
  • SG-8P Punisher Plasma - A variant of the Punisher shotgun that fires deadly plasma rounds.
  • ARC-12 Blitzer - A chargeable weapon that fires an arc of close-range lightning that can fire off powerful bolts and hit multiple targets.
  • LAS-7 Dagger - A laser pistol that can fire short, targeted beams of damage.
  • G-23 Stun - a stun grenade that can halt enemies in their place for a period of time.

(1 of 5) The LAS-16 Sickle is a long-range addition with this Warbond.

The number of weapons here matches what we saw in the Steeled Veterans Warbond, which was available right from when the game launched and will still be available when Cutting Edge releases. So, when future Warbonds launch, we can expect the same number of weapons and items. From these weapons, the ARC-12 Blitzer and the LAS-16 Sickle definitely look like they could be the standout purchases to grab as soon as you purchase Cutting Edge.

Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge armor

The Cutting Edge Warbond has three armor sets, comprising a helmet and suit. These are:

  • EX-03 Prototype 3 - Rubber insulated for protection against electricity, lightning, and other damage.
  • EX-15 Prototype 16 - Armor that generates a magnetic field.
  • EX-00 Prototype X - A high-end armor piece, available after a lot of research and investment.

The EX-03, EX-16, and EX-00 are shown in the image and look rather unique compared to the other armor in the game right now.

We don’t know the perks, stats, and bonuses of the armor just yet. But, once the Warbond launches we will be sure to update this section.

Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge items

Finally, the Warbond will also have the regular assortment of other items, including three new capes, player cards matching each cape, three new emotes, boosters, and Super Credits. Once we have a full list of each of the items, we will update this section of the guide.

Spread democracy with some style with these three new capes in the Cutting Edge Warbond.

As with the previous premium Warbond, these weapons and the armor and gear will be split across three different pages. So, you will need to grind a fair bit, especially if they are as costly as the items that are in the Steeled Veterans Warbond. Hopefully at least one or two of these weapons will make it onto our Helldivers 2 best weapons list too!
