It is not true, that if you give gem to the man you get nothing. You get 1200xp and he gives you a reward worth of 40 silver.

I just beat this quest and I got 1200 xp and +40 silver. I gave him the jewel and taking it with charisma

Hi,

Thanks for pointing this out! I've just checked the resources from our playthrough and we got nothing, but it may have been patched since. I've edited the detail since I can see the 40 silver reward has been replicated by other playthroughs.
