Foreword

You live the quiet life in Cassardis. Sure, fishing for a living isn’t easy, it won’t make you rich, and the duchy is ruiled by a negligent dragonslayer who is past his prime… but friends and family are close and it’s a living. Until the Dragon - long since thought vanquished - returns to Gransys and starts eating your vital organs. After the winged agent of fiery destruction leaves, you find yourself miraculously alive, and inexorably drawn to the Dragon, which now threatens the land.

You are the Arisen, chosen by the Dragon to test your mettle in a fatal struggle against the beast, should you prove yourself worthy of such an encounter. To aid you in your trials you have at your command the Pawn Legion; a host of not-quite-human companions who will provide whatever you, yourself, may be lacking. Along the way you’ll have to prove your skill and bravery to the Duke and his retainers, deal with political intrigue, scandalous love affairs, greedy merchants and a doomsday cult, all while trying to find clues that lead you closer to your ultimate showdown with the Dragon. Your heart, the duchy… perhaps even the fate of the entire world and generations not yet born could be at stake.

This guide will take you through the game in ideal chronological order, step-by-step, completeing every main quest, side quest, and important notice board quests along the way in one unified narrative. Along the way, monsters will be discussed when appropriate, and chests (and their often random treasures) will be detailed. Before any of this, however, you’ll be presented with a run-down of character creation, including the attributes, vocations, and suggested builds that will help you create an Arisen capable of weathering the challenges ahead.
