There are plenty of hidden collectibles in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, be it Recipes, Characters, or Rune-Lens. One such collectible you may encounter early in the adventure is the Faded Books which seemingly have no purpose, that is, until you gain access to the Library at your Headquarters. This page will tell you where to find every Faded Book Chapter.

Every Faded Book Chapter¶
There are a total of 20 Faded Book Chapters to seek on the continent and you’ll need to employ various methods to track them all. Fortunately, they’ll never cost you any Bacqua and none of them are missable, even if it may seem like it at the time (after all, you can return to any area with Carrie’s Fast Travel). The table below will list every Faded Book chapter in numerical order (rather than chronological) so you can find the one you’re missing and set off to grab it.

Mission Guild Faded Books¶
While most of the Faded Books are self-explanatory, the four Mission Guild chapters are by far the trickiest and will take the most time. To begin with, you’ll need to unlock all available Tasks which require you to reach the final stages of the game. You’ll then need to send out teams and hope you score the Secret Reward (indicated with a ??? in the list) that happens to have a very low percentage.
We’ve crunched the numbers in our in-depth Mission Guild Explained page, chock-full of every character’s stats, leader skills, and how the formula works. However, to give yourself the easiest time, have Larla as the Team Leader, her skill will increase your Secret Reward chances with a 2.0 multiplier (Leene can achieve this too, just with a lower multiplier).
Where to use Faded Books¶
So now you have all of these Faded Books, you may be wondering as to what their purpose is. Well, you’ll have to progress the game until you Upgrade the Headquarters to Level 2 and build the Library by recruiting Mariette. With the Library built, head up to the 2F of the castle and enter the room on the right to find her at the desk. Speak to her and you’ll convert all of your Faded Books into Old Books, these will provide you with some lore on the world of Allraan.
