Altus Plateau - Elden Ring Database

Altus Plateau contains three of three sub- regions. Mt Gelmir, Altus Plateau and Leyndell, Royal Capital.

• The Altus Plateau region can be accessed via the Grand Lift of Dectus or the Ravine-Veiled Village.

• A third, secret route can be found to reach the Altus Plateau region by being intentionally swallowed and killed by the Iron Virgin at the bottom of the Raya Lucaria waterwheel. Doing this will take you to an area in the Volcano Manor where the Altus Plateau can be accessed after the Abductor Virgins boss fight.

The Altus Tunnels are found in Altus Plateau. The Altus tunnels were once used to supply the lands with quality crystals. It can be found directly south from the Minor Erdtree in Altus Plateau.

Auriza Hero’s Grave is a tomb found on the outskirts of Leyndell, Royal Capital.

The Auriza Hero’s Grave is found in the eastern section of the Capital Outskirts. Players can reach this location by following the main path within the outskirt walls, all the way to the east.

Auriza Side Tomb is a dungeon that rests at the eastern edge of the Altus Plateau region, within the Leyndell Capital Outskirts. It is the home of the Grave Warden Duelist (Auriza Side Tomb), but to get there you’ll need to open teleporter trap chests that’ll whisk you away to different parts of the dungeon, which you’ll need to navigate to make your way through it.

Expect to fight Imps, and pots in these catacombs, but be wary as the Jars with yellow lids will explode after defeating them. You’ll also come across suicidal pots that get triggered when you get near them, These insane little Jars will run and throw themselves at you, exploding in the process. Make sure to keep your distance from them when this happens.

The dungeon can be quite tricky to navigate through as you’ll need to open chests that are actually teleportation traps to different parts of the dungeon. Eventually one will lead to area that has the lever to open the boss room.

How to reach the boss in Auriza Side Tomb

When you start the dungeon, go down the stairs in front of you, and take the northeastern stairs down. In this room, you’ll face a few small Jar enemies. Some of these will have yellow lids, and will explode upon death. When they’re defeated, jump through the northwestern window with the Grave violet nearby.

When you land, you’ll be opposite the statue with the boss lever on a raised platform in front of you. You won’t be able to access this yet as the only way to it is from teleporter chest. Head down the stairs and kill the incoming imp, with that defeated, take the narrow southwestern steps down into the area with the water with items trapped behind a metal fence. As you walk out into the open here, an imp will hurl a lightning bomb at you from above, as you head a little further in, another imp will attack you so be ready for it. When you’re ready, head through the lit-up archway to the northwest and be wary of the imp to your sharp left as you enter the next room.

This room will have another projectile throwing Imp above to your right, ignore it and take the chest at the end of the room. Note, there is another imp to the left of the chest which’ll attack you as you approach the chest.

Now you’ll be on the opposite side of the metal fence you saw in the water room a moment ago. This room will have two large Jars to fight, which shouldn’t pose too much of a threat just be wary of their spin attack. When they’re defeated, pick up the two Cracked Pots and the Perfumer’s Cookbook [3] then take the chest under the balcony back.

Head east and take the southwest stairs through the southwest archway where two suicidal Jars will attempt to rush and explode on you, back up and let them waste their lives, then take the chest. This’ll put you on the balcony above where the imps were throwing bombs at you, take them out or let them drop off the balcony and continue through the northeast door.

Drop off the balcony yourself, and head through the southwestern archway towards the chest at the back, which’ll take you to a copy of the water room. The difference here is there is a long ladder to your northeast, as well as two exploding Jars. Take the ladder up, and when you eventually reach the top, you’ll be on the balcony with the boss lever. Interact with it to open the boss door, then drop and go up the southeastern stairs, follow those until you reach the next room, then take the chest.

Head into the next room, and you’ll be back in the first room that you entered at the beginning of the dungeon. Continue up the southwestern stairs, and when you enter the next room, turn northwest and go through the now unlocked boss door.

• East of the Capital Rampart site of grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital. From the Capital Rampart site of grace, head northwest until you can reach the lower part of the southern area by the water. Turn back on yourself and go southeast, in-between the mountains until you’re in the open. Finally, hug the northeastern cliff all the way to find the dungeon near the edge of the cliff.

• The Grave Warden Duelist (Auriza Side Tomb) is the boss of the dungeon.

• Imps and Jars are the only enemies that appear in this dungeon.

Capital Outskirts sub-region lies in the Eastern area of the Altus Plateau and is the region just outside Leyndell, Royal Capital but still within the capital’s outer walls.

• Beware of Skeletons rising from their graves and rocks flying out of the capital toward the battlegrounds when exploring the area.

The Divine Tower of West Altus is found in Leyndell, Royal Capital, Altus Plateau. It can only be reached by going through a series of illusory walls found in Sealed Tunnel. The path is linear, so there’s no way to miss it, and illusory walls are generally at the end of each new area. You have to fight Onyx Lord which can be defeated in your first encounter if you are prudent enough.

The entrance to a sealed tunnel located just outside the lower west entrance to the Leyndell, Royal Capital area to the south of the Altus Plateau. It’s north-east of the Minor Erdtree Church and the tunnel is guarded by the Onyx Lord mini-boss.

Note: You cannot access the Divine Tower of West Altus without first defeating Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy. Otherwise, you’ll get a message saying the “[The door] is tightly blocked shut”

The Dominula, Windmill Village is found in Altus Plateau. Dancering women in robes perform festivities in Dominula, the village of windmills. The dancers of the village are the young maids who play the central role in the festival.

The Golden Lineage Evergaol is found in Altus Plateau. Start at the Liurnia region link to the Altus Plateau.

This arena should be one of the first regions players will come across. The closest Site of Grace being the Altus Highway Junction. Upon reaching the arena you can go against Godefroy the Grafted who will share similar movements and attacks as one of the early bosses, Godrick the Grafted without reaching phase 2 and added fire. Defeating Godefroy The Grafted will reward players with a Godfrey Icon Talisman, which can enhance charged spells and kills, along with 26,000 Runes.

It is in the far southwest of the region, right by Grand Lift of Dectus. To easily reach this location, start from the Erdtree-Gazing Hill grace, then travel south through the camp and then use a natrual tunnel to reach the Evergaol. You must spend one Stonesword Key to unlock the plate.

The Hermit Merchant’s Shack is found in the outskirts of Leyndell, Royal Capital. The shack is home to a humble merchant, who has chosen a life of seclusion.

Leyndell, Capital of Ash is an instance of Leyndell, Royal Capital after it falls into ruin. This version of the capital is accessible only after making significant story progress and is geared towards high-leveled players. The Capital of Ash features the same structures and landmarks as its intact counterpart, albeit altered in slight or significant ways. Previously open paths may not be accessible and vice versa. The Capital of Ash also features its own set of enemies, bosses and collectibles with varied placement distinct from the regular version of the city.

• Map Fragments: Leyndell, Capital of Ash shares its map with Leyndell, Royal Capital and does not require collection of a map fragment.

• The Lux Ruins can be reached by exploring the western cliffs of Altus Plateau.

• To reach Lux Ruins, from the Altus Plateau, after the Grant Lift of Dectus, head north and straight on, until you come across a ruined structure, which will be the Lux Ruins.
• The area surrounding the ruins will be teeming with Demi-Human enemies with chances to drop Falchion, String, Rickety Shield and other Materials.
• In this area you can obtain Ash of War: Shield Crash dropped by a Teardrop Scarab amongst the ruins.
• If you’re ready to face the boss, head down towards the fog gate to face the Demi-Human Queen Gilika

A giant tree in the center of Altus Plateau, notable for its lack of a Erdtree Avatar guardian with the Wormface Woodfolk taking its place.

• West of the Woodfolk Ruins, which is located west of Leyndell, Ashen Capital.

• The boss here is a Woodfolk which goes by the fitting name “Wormface”.

• Defeating the Wormface will reward you with a Crimsonspill Crystal Tear, and the Speckled Hardtear.

The Minor Erdtree Church is found in Altus Plateau. Upon entry, just in front of the jar lies a Missionary’s Cookbook (4). Towards the tree you will reach the Site of Grace. At the tree you can find a Golden Centipede to loot along with a Golden Order Seal at the body below the tree. After obtaining the Seal, there will be no more points of interest in the area. There are no bosses or enemies in this location however there will be guardian just outside the route towards the church.

Mirage Rise is an area in Elden Ring in Altus Plateau. It contains a riddle which players must solve by finding 3X Phantom Crest to unlock rewards.

The tower is found in Altus Plateau. Follow the path west from the Minor Erdtree in the region to reach it.

The Old Altus Tunnel is a mini-dungeon found in central-west Altus Plateau.

This location can be accessed on foot or on horseback and the entrance is located deep within the jagged rocky hills in Western Altus Plateau.

Perfumer’s Grotto is a Minor Dungeons found in the Altus Plateau Region of Elden Ring. It is an optional dungeon that is home to a few treasure items and a miniboss Foe.

It can be accessed by exploring the side of the great bridge heading east into the capital. From the Out Wall Phantom Tree Site of Grace, head through the large set of doors and fight or avoid the Tree Sentinal by veering right. Drop off the stone path and keep your eye to the right and there should be a tunnel opening along the cliffs.

The Second Church of Marika is a ruined church that sits in the central area of Altus Plateau and acts as a respite for weary travelers. The Goddess statue holds a Sacred Tear.

• Follow the road north of the Altus Highway Junction site of grace, west of Leyndell.

• A Sacred Tear can be found at the foot of the statue.

• Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger will invade you here if you’ve been following Yura’s quest line.

The Stormcaller Church is found in Altus Plateau. Once you enter, beware of the two enemies ready to ambush you just past the entrance. They will be at each corner.

There is a Sacred Tear below the main statue and x10 Lightning Greatbolt. There is also a chest to be found. Turn back from the statue, looking at the entrance, and you will notice a chest on the left-side wall. Open it to obtain Dragonbolt Blessing.

• It can be reached from Rampartside Path site of grace by following the road west towards the lightning strikes.

The Subterranean Shunning-Grounds is an optional area that doesn’t need to be completed to progress with the game. Saying that, you’ll need to come down here if you have any plans on completing Dung Eaters quest line. On top of that, you can fight the optional boss Mohg, the Omen, access a hidden dungeon called Leyndell Catacombs, and the chance to gain some useful items like the Erdtree’s Favor +1, and the Omen’s Bairn. Furthermore, you can gain access to a secret area that leads to one of the games endings.

• The Subterranean Shunning-Grounds can be accessed from the Avenue Balcony site of grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital. Head down the northwestern stairs in front of it and go through the door into the open area, head west and hug the railing until you can see roofs to jump onto on your left. Jump down to them, whilst dropping off to the right. When you land, turn around on yourself and head north where you’ll see a well behind a dilapidated wall.

• Take the ladder down into the well whilst picking up the Rune Arc from the corpse at the end of the corridor, then head back and open the gate. With the gate open, head into the next area and take the next ladder down and follow the damp corridors northeast until you see the text pop-up for the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds.

NPC’s

• Dung Eater - His corporeal form can be found in a sewer-goal. Travelling from the Underground Roadside Site of Grace, if you head northeast you will discove a grate in the floor leading to the aqueducts/sewers. If you then continue north past the Rats and Giant Poisonbloom you will find a ladder. At the top of the ladder is a room where Spider Hands will emerge from the ground. At the back of the room is the cell. The cell requires the Sewer-Gaol Key to unlock which is also given by Dung Eater at the Roundtable Hold.

The The Shaded Castle is found in Altus Plateau. A castle found in the northern region of the Altus Plateau. Head north through the valley between the Mt. Gelmir and Altus Plateau regions, heading north from the Altus Tunnel to find your way to the Castle.

The West Windmill Pasture is found in the Altus Plateau. From East Windmill Pasture, there is a small cliff south of the windmill, players may come across a Battlemage standing atop a rock. Players can deal a hard hit from behind to begin combat or dace the Battlemage completely on horseback. Defeat the Battlemage to potentially gain access to its garments, Battlemage Set. Haima Glintstone Crown, Battlemage Robe, Battlemage Manchettes and Battlemage Legwraps.

When arriving at the Windmill, you’ll find many rats of all sizes. In the shack with rats is where players can find Giant Rats Ashes. Pillage the remains to obtain it. From here, players can make their way to the main Windmill Village.

It can be reached by heading east from the Road of Iniquity Side Path site of grace and taking a left up the hill before reaching the Windmill Village site of grace. Follow the path up the hill till the end where you will reach the West Windmill Pasture.

The Woodfolk Ruins is found in Altus Plateau. You will find Woodfolk Ruins just east of the Minor Erdtree in Altus Plateau. Upon reaching the area, there will be several Lesser Wormface roaming the ruins. There’s also an underground chamber, and there are three Lesser Wormface guarding the entrance. Going down the stairs will lead you to a door, open the door and then you’ll see a chest inside, the chest contains the Wrath of Gold.

Run back up the stairs, there’s a smaller ruined building within the area, you will find the Nomadic Warrior’s Cookbook [19] just laying on the ground beside a wall. You will also encounter a Teardrop Scarab spawn in the area, kill it to obtain the Ash of War: Golden Slam.

There’s also a building nearby, beware of the enemies inside, this is where you can obtain the Icon Shield.

The Soft Cotton can be located near the ruins as well, guarded by snail like enemies.

• The Writheblood Ruins are found in Altus Plateau just north of Sainted Hero’s Grave.

• The Writheblood Ruins are found in Altus Plateau. Two sequential jumping platforms are found just north of Mirage Rise. Take these and head briefly eastward to arrive at Writheblood Ruins. Following the path west from this location leads directly to the Bridge of Iniquity lost grace site.

Old Altus Tunnel is a mini-dungeon found in central-west Altus Plateau accessible with two Stonesword Keys. It is an old mining site that is still active. The tunnels features commoners mining the reservoir of the crystals deep within.
