Codsworth, the first companion available to players in Fallout 4, can be recruited in Sanctuary Hills shortly after leaving Vault 111.

He wields a buzz-saw and flamer, making him surprisingly effective in combat, especially early in the game. Codsworth’s Robot Sympathy perk boosts energy resistance by 10, which is versatile but modest in its impact. While Codsworth’s arsenal is limited like most Mr. Handy robots, his slightly higher health pool compared to human companions sets him apart. However, his affinity perk, Robot Sympathy, offers a relatively small benefit that may not significantly impact gameplay. Despite this, Codsworth remains a useful companion for players starting their journey in the wasteland.
