Dear Erik,
I am pleased to learn that your training is progressing well. Master Vitalis is challenging and stern, but always fair. He demands the best of his students, and you will learn a great deal under his tutelage. Remember that combat is not everything; a warrior’s mind must be as sharp as his weapon.

Be diligent in your efforts. Whatever comes of this, know that you have a proud father.
