A feather-covered, deformed monster once stumbled into the mine where the slaves worked, only to be shot dead by the patrolling warden. The slaves watched as the Velgrs dragged away the monster’s corpse, a reminder of those who had been similarly taken not long ago. Fear and suspicion quietly spread throughout the mine.
