The Emergency Pack is a unique item that you acquire at the beginning of the game in Sons of the Forest. It provides you with a few essential items: the Guide Book, GPS Tracker, Tactical Axe, and Lighter. Each of these are essential for your survival as you learn new crafting recipes, navigate your way through the landscape, chop down trees and defend yourself with the axe, and create fires to keep warm or cook food with the Lighter. The Lighter can also be used to provide a faint source of light in darkness.

An MRE pack in Sons of the Forest stands for Meal Ready to Eat. It’s a good source of food to replenish both hunger and thirst, although it does more for the former. You can find these in containers or lying around at abandoned dig sites or underground facilities.

The Meds in Sons of the Forest are among the most basic forms of health regeneration in the game. You should have a few of these from the containers that you loot near the beginning of the game at the helicopter crash site, but you can also find them at abandoned dig sites and in underground facilities. They’re a great way to quickly heal, and they can be easily accessed as you’re fighting if you add them to your Backpack.

The Health Mix+ in Sons of the Forest can be crafted using Aloe Vera, Horsetail, and Fireweed. These ingredients are relatively rare but you can find them throughout the map. Be sure to check our interactive world map for some of the known spawn node locations for each.

The Health Mix in Sons of the Forest provides a quick way to replenish some health in a pinch, but it won’t provide as much health as quickly as Meds. You can craft it by combining 1x Aloe Vera with 1x Yarrow.
